Whew, Is The Weekend Here Yet?!

We had a busy week and then spent the weekend with family and friends.  Monday seems to arrive faster and faster!

Updates:  Ayson has gone four nights without peeing in his diaper and tonight (7/28) is his first try WITHOUT a diaper.  He knows he can get up and use the potty if he needs to (we added a few more night lights between his room and the bathroom to help him out).  Cross your fingers!!

Addie's new words: Up, up, up (as in lift me up!).  She has also been doing lots of conversational babbling. Mommy just wishes she knew what Addie was saying.

Monday:
Daddy and the babies - but Addie wants Mumma!

Tuesday:
Kisses from Daddy.  Ayson MUST be going through a growth spurt because he is happy then ornery then crying.  He has been eating a ton of food and his sleep schedule is out of whack.  In the below picture, he is punching Daddy :(



Wednesday:
Mason, the cat, was hanging around the wood stove and Mommy noticed there was a BIRD stuck in the stove!  It must have flown in from the chimney outside.  We waited for Daddy to come home before we attempted a bird rescue.



Then it was Mommy who ended up grabbing the bird and setting it free :)



Addie got such a kick out of watching Ayson pushing the belt on the treadmill so that the bucket would fall off of the end of the treadmill.



Thursday:
We had a busy weekend ahead of us and Daddy thought ahead and order pizza for us (so that way we could eat leftovers on Friday since we were going to be gone on Saturday/Sunday).

The kids are not allowed to put their feet on the table (or their elbows :) but Mommy could not resist a cute picture of Addie's piggies on the edge!



Friday:
We finished our leftover pizza and then headed over to the park.  Ayson is learning how to pump his legs on the big boy swing!

Saturday morning:

We then headed to Rochester to spend the day with friends and their children.  Everyone had fun playing in the pools!  It had been about 4 years since we had seen everyone.  We all promised that the next get together would be MUCH sooner :)



Ayson was even floating on his own (not clinging to Daddy for dear life)...good job big boy!  Now we need to sign him up for swimming lessons!

We then went to Grandma Collene's and Grandpa Ric's for the night.
Sunday:

LOL!  Ruby took up a lot of room on the couch but at least it made Ayson cuddle next to Daddy :)

THEN, we headed over to Grandpa Chuck and Pama's house for an afternoon pool party!  Auntie Julie, Uncle Dan, and the cousins were there too!  We all had fun in the pool and enjoyed our time with family.  Thanks for the yummy meal, Grandpa and Pama!

Dog Days of Summer

Daddy was a jelly/jam making machine last week! He made black raspberry jelly and 2 batches of strawberry jam!  We were treated to crepes on Saturday...yum!
Addie's new words: fan, ball, and cheese.  She is also getting good at mimicking us.  On Sunday, she repeated Ayson's "No" to perfection.  She listen's when Mommy says "no" but when Daddy tells Addie "no, Addie cries :)
Ayson has been on the go and pretty much crashing at night.  He sang his ABCs to himself on Saturday and he counts down from 10 while Mommy counts down how much time he has left in time out:)  Adam taught Ayson what "throwing a person under the bus" means (as in "telling" on someone or blaming a person for doing something").

Monday
Daddy surprised us by coming home early and setting up the pool so we could all cool down!  Thanks Daddy!

Tuesday

Thursday

Friday
It was so hot that we all hung out in Ayson's room (double bed with rails so we can all play on it and not immediately fall off) with the air conditioner.

We had a relaxing weekend at home just playing with the kiddos and catching up on house chores.
Saturday:
We played indoors most of the day due to rain...



but then the skies cleared and we went over to the park for a bit of fun.



Sunday:
Daddy and Ayson went to Stafford Park while Addie took a morning nap.  We were trying to tire Ayson out so that he would take a good nap on Sunday.  NO such luck.  He did have a spectacular meltdown around 5:30 and was sleeping by 6:15.

The weather has been warm and we are giving the kiddie pool a workout!  Our neighbors are getting a deck for their pool so now Ayson wants a deck for our pool.  We keep trying to tell him that the yard is our deck :) He is not satisfied with that answer and he now wants a new pool AND a deck!

Addie's new words for the week:  bird, ball, and powder (as in baby powder).  She has also been saying "Mumma" non-stop and she even has the imperious tone done perfect!  She is on the move and is almost running now (usually to get away from Ayson or trying to catch something like Mason or a ball)
We are working with Ayson on being nice to his friends.  He was not very nice to his friend Sam on Saturday and he then shoved Addie on Sunday...sigh, we are working on it!

The boys went berry picking (black raspberries).  All of the rain we have had meant that the berry crop did not get all dried out and Daddy was able to pick enough berries to make jelly.
