Bye Bye, April!!

Wow, we are already at the end of April!!  It was a busy week but we still managed to get outside and PLAY! We are thankful for being able to spend time together AND for the kiddos letting Mommy and Daddy sleep in on the weekends now...hahaha:)

Addie and Daddy walking hand in hand to the garden on Monday.  Mommy loves this picture!!

Ayson was supposed to be watering the peas...instead he gave himself a mud mask for his hands...sigh.

Ayson playing catch with Daddy.  Daddy was SO excited because Ayson asked Daddy to play catch with the football.  Typically, Ayson does not want to have ANYTHING to do with football :)

Ayson was timid at catching the ball until Daddy suggested he wear his lacrosse helmet...then Ayson could catch the ball with no problems.

Addie showing off her yoga moves :)

Pretty day!

On Friday evening, we went for a walk in the orchard.  Rain boots were a must but since SOMEONE decided to splash in the muddy water, mud landed on their pale little legs and Mommy cracked up at seeing the tighty whities  :)

LOL!

We heard all sorts of spring peepers!

After the walk, the reward was Smores!!

Typical. The kids have WAY too many toys and yet they want to play and fight over the big box. Thanks for the clothes, Auntie Holly!!!

Addie working on her homework: find/draw pictures that begin with the letter "v."  Addie drawing a vampire:)

Just another low key Saturday night and we LOVE it! :)

Pretty moon!

Weeding out the mint from the side garden on Sunday.  Addie is holding up a long string of mint root!

For school, Ayson's class will be building terrariums and his homework was to collect decaying wood and leaves, bark, and moss.

Sunday mid afternoon turned out to be warmer so we went to Labrador and walked to the waterfall!

Walking (NO running, Ayson!!!!) behind the waterfall

A picture at the top of the waterfall

Addie's pout face when we suggested not walking the boardwalk since we walked to the waterfall...so we went to the boardwalk :)

Marsh marigold was blooming!

School work:
The research notes for Ayson's bird nest

Ayson's bird nest!

Ugh, the pic is upside down but Ayson stated that NEXT time he would make the nest softer :)

Capitalization worksheets

LOL, Mommy forgot to ask Ayson what food he was eating but the triangle in his hand is most likely pizza :)

Acrostic Poems Ayson's class completed :)

Lucky for us that neighbor Gianna just happened to be at the elementary school to watch a lacrosse game and she took a close up picture of Ayson's poem...thanks, Gi!!!
Ayson's current favorite shirt is orange with blue stripes and has a pocket...just like the shirt in his picture.

Addie's mice using shapes :)  Mommy feels bad for not having more pics of Addie's work but her school work seems to come home in one big slug while Ayson's work is constant.

Spring Break!

Last week was spring break for the kiddos!  The kids had FUN staying up later than normal and had extra time to play outside.  They were even able to SLEEP IN as Mommy had a babysitter come to the house instead of making the kids get up early to go to Ms Linda's.  We are thankful for a happy and healthy family and the extra time we had to play together :)

Monday evening fun with Gianna!

Don't fall through, Ayson!

Reading to Daddy

On Tuesday we had Smores!  Ayson roasted his own marshmallows to perfection!

Addie smiling with her tasty treat!

Daddy roasted marshmallows for Addie and Gianna

Addie's story "Fancy Nancy"

On Thursday, Mommy was in Buffalo at a concert so of course the kiddos and Daddy had McDonald's for dinner!!!!

Mommy and Noelle before the 3 hour Eric Church concert in Buffalo!

Mommy arrived home Friday late morning and we quickly packed up and headed to the Syracuse zoo!

The red panda (all of the animals really) were super active this trip!

The kids loved the baby elephant!

For Earth Day on Saturday, the kids learned about the science behind bubbles: films, surface tension, evaporation, and colors (interference).

We made bubble chains and we were even able to blow a small bubble inside of a big bubble!

Sunday was a gorgeous day!  Daddy and the kiddos got the boat ready so we can just GO when the moment strikes!

We went for a bike ride and Addie did a great job getting better at balancing (yes, the training wheels are back on...Mommy thinks we took them off too soon and Addie did not have a good handle on balancing).

Mommy weeded the flower beds and Daddy tilled the gardens...

while the kiddos looked for bugs :)

Later Sunday afternoon, we made a huge bubble film and we even got a few smaller bubbles to bounce on the bubble film!  We had to move to the garage as the slight breeze was too much for the bubbles.

Nice bubbles, Addie!

Check out Addie's face! Addie has her finger poking through the bubble film and it has not popped!

Time to plant the sugar snap peas!!!  The kiddos (Mommy and Daddy too!) love to pick fresh peas from the garden!

Happy Spring!
