How is October Over?!

Amazing fall weather and the end of football season for Ayson.  The month of October went by in a blink!!!  We went to the Optimist Halloween Party on Friday and had dinner with our friends, Annie and Bob, on Sunday.  We hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy!

Silly Thunder sitting in the horse fenced in area!

Windy and WARM afternoons had milkweed in the air!

Everyday we picked raspberries after school

Optimist Friday Halloween Party - the kiddos had a blast running around with their friends - what a gorgeous night!

Ayson's last football game was on Saturday.  Great job, Ayson, on your 2nd (and last) year of modified football!!!

Somehow a squirrel ended up in our fireplace chimney (found it on Friday evening).  We set a trap inside the fireplace and after a few attempts, the squirrel was set free on Saturday afternoon!

Addie's requested costume - we split the cost on this one!

A recipe Amy has wanted to make since she had it the summer of 2009 with Doug and Sue - Cottage Cheese Pie!

Addie's 6th grade school picture :)

Ayson's 8th grade first marking period classmates with achievement awards.

Dinner with Annie and Bob!  Good food and friends (and a movie!)

Toasting with the basilcello Amy made this summer.

And, garden pictures!!

Preserving Leaves and Pumpkin Carving

Even though the rain kept us indoors, we enjoyed time with friends this weekend.  We hope everyone is staying healthy and enjoying Fall!

Addie received a "how to draw animals" book from Adam's tattoo artist - she didn't want the book anymore and Adam thought the kids might like it!  Addie got right to work :)

Ayson had a game in Chittenango - the birthplace of L. Frank Baum, author of many children's books including the Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Ayson's team won and they were so excite!

Addie started a new book series...yes, about cats.

On Friday, Amy showed Addie how to preserve pretty leaves with wax paper :)

Addie had a sleepover party at a friends house and we went to hang out with Kate and Emmett.  The boys had fun playing video games.

On Saturday, we had a pumpkin carving party minus Erik and Emilia (who were at WonderWorks for the evening)

This pumpkin was $3.99!!!!  The pumpkins from our garden did not get this big!

Ayson carved a cat face in memory of Shadow

Our finished jack o lanterns :)

The zinnias are still producing gorgeous flowers!!!

Friday was crazy windy and the milkweed was taking flight in the air and looked like snow!

Quick Week and Garden Harvests

Amy could not remember what happened during the week - as it was a short week with Monday as a holiday, a quick trip to Buffalo for work on Tuesday, a football game on Wednesday for Ayson, and a low key weekend getting chores done around the yard, and Adam made pulled pork for Addie on Sunday!  We hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy!!!

Ayson's game was located about 5 minutes from Amy's office (too bad Amy was at a meeting in LaFayette during his game!)

We harvested our carrots and cleaned up sections of the garden on Saturday.
Check out all of our carrots!!

Ayson cut down some of the dead plants around the house and then really wanted to continue "wacking away" so he started cutting the weeds in between the sun flowers.

While we were outside working, neighbor girls came over and asked Addie if she wanted to play at the park building a big leaf pile to play in.

On Sunday, Emelia came over for a little bit and we had fun coloring, making a paper airplane, playing Taco, Cat, Goat, Cheese, Pizza, and playing with Addie's Hatchimal sets :)

Ayson's school picture (the digital download version) arrived on Sunday!!!  Great smile, Big Guy!

Amy has WAY too many flower/garden pics but tries to put them at the end in case people don't want to scroll by them :)

Our saffron crocus harvest this fall!!!

This is a zinnia just starting to flowers - reminds Amy of a lamprey mouth.
