Snow Day and 80 Degrees

A crazy week of weather with over six inches of snow on Tuesday and then temps over 80 degrees on Sunday!  No matter, A^4 still had fun:)  We hope that all of our family and friends are enjoying Spring!

The kids had a snow day on Tuesday!  WHAT?!?  Our valley received about 6 inches of snow while Amy's colleague (that lives 15 minutes east) received over a foot of snow - eek!
SO, after Adam and Amy got done with work for the day, we went for one last "winter walk" at Tracy Lake.

There is a little finch (either house or purple) nest in our wreath outside of the Boys Room door.  It will be fun to watch nestling progress!!

By Friday, spring was back :)

Amy went for a walk in the orchard on Friday and heard Peepers

On Saturday, the kids and Amy caught up on house chores and then picked up trash at the "little park" across from the house while Adam was volunteering with the Optimist Club at the "big park" :)

The kids having fun with Ayson's Tesla coil.

Sunday was crazy warm (in the low 80s) so of course Addie requested the sprinkler be turned on underneath the trampoline:)

Spring Break Visit with Grandma and Grandpa

Spring Break 2022 in Orange Beach Alabama with Grandma Pat and Grandpa Roger.  The kids spent their time in the water - pools and the ocean.

Looking for life and treasures along the beach.

A tiny crab

A house exchange, anyone?

Grandma and the kiddos

and then Amy with the kiddos.

On Sunday, we went for a pontoon boat ride with Ms Mary Anne.

A great blue heron nest right along the shore of the island.

A gorgeous day!

A marsh area in the island.

Captain Ayson.

And Captain Addie!

A pirate ship!

More pool time!

A walk along the Back Country Trai to the obstacle course and Hidden Lake.

The kids would not give up until they had completed the course without touching the ground.

Lizard life!

Grandma informed us that Hidden Lake has a carnivorous plant: Sundews along the shore of the lake.  Ayson now wants a sundew plant to add to his collection of venus fly trap plants :)

A VERY cool minnow that washed up along the beach.  Amy is not certain on the species but she won't give up looking for the name yet!

More treasure hunting.

An excursion to Pitcher Plant Bog to see MORE carnivorous plants: pitcher plants.

Learning about the 2 species of pitcher plants found at the bog.

Northern green anole.

The below picture has at least 5 pitcher plants with red flowers.

More sundews!

We played the board game "Clue" that Auntie Holly and the kids left for us.  Thank you!

Dolphins looking for breakfast.

Most likely a skate (and not a stingray) along the beach.

More pool fun since the ocean was not safe to swim due to rip tides and strong currents.

We went on a dolphin cruise!

It was so neat to see the dolphins playing in the waves.

We saw 2 pods of dolphins and 1 pod had a baby dolphin - too cute!!

Ayson turned around to tell Amy to take a video!!

Gorgeous night to play at the beach.

Swimming AND a climbing wall!

Ah, pool time at Aunt Shirley and Uncle Al's community indoor heated pool.

Back to the beach!

Ayson made an awesome design in the sand.

A great blue heron fishing for dinner.

We went to Gulf Shores State Park and walked the pier and saw Aunt Shirley and Uncle Al at the beach!
