Memorial Weekend

Not many pictures this week BUT we are looking forward to the start of the garden and summer season!!!  Adam was traveling for work (Austria and Belgium) and finally arrived home on Thursday - yay!  The kiddos had Friday off (unused snow day) and Amy took the day off too.  We hope everyone had an enjoyable Memorial weekend with family and friends!!!

Over the long weekend, the kids wanted to make "Grandma's cookies" - oatmeal, raisin, and chocolate chip cookies that Grandma Pat always brings with her when she visits us.  The kids and Amy made a double batch and the cookies were gone in less than 24 hrs.

Addie helped us get the garden planted on Memorial Day.  In the below picture, she is filling in the sparse section of sugar snap peas with new seeds. Addie then helped water the newly planted plants AND made mud pies - yes, mud pies.  She stated making the mud pies was the highlight of her gardening efforts.

The puppies looking cute (and clean after a bath).

Amy's cat, Saffron, purring (and smiling) during a cuddle session this week.

Rain and Spring Flowers

The week went by quickly with gorgeous weather on Monday and then Friday through Saturday.  The rest of the days were rainy and kept us pretty much indoors.  We hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy!

Addie found a toad along the front walk way on Monday.

Addie and her huge watermelon slice.

Thanks for cutting the watermelon, Big Guy!  Notice Ayson's "bib" to protect his shirt while sampling the watermelon.

Silly girl!

Addie working on her drawing skills...because she was bored.

Cuddle time with the puppies after work.

More cat shelter volunteering.  There were THREE kittens!!

Of course Addie wanted to take them all home (Amy said no).

A pansy that came up from last year!!

Amy watched two male humming birds fight over a feeder at a friend's house - there was another feeder less than five feet away!

The irises are blooming!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to our lovely lady family and friends!  We hope everyone found time to relax and enjoy time with friends and family.  It has finally stopped raining for a few days and we were able to get yard work underway.  Ayson said it was hard to mow the grass because it had gotten so long from all the rain.

Amy grabbed a picture of Ayson as he came home from his FIRST day at an official job at Faverolles Gardens  He will also continue to help out friends with yard chores (and help out at home too!!)

Addie helped to make banana bread on Sunday.

LOOK at the size of our two "puppies."  It is so fun to watch them play together and run circles around each other out in the apple orchard.

Amy and the kiddos with the cards they made Amy for Mother's Day.

Amy keeps finding morels as she weeds the perennial beds.

The lily of the valley are starting to bloom - the plants adjacent to the brick chimney enjoy the heat off the red brick.

Hello May!!!!

A low key week for Stormy and just a normal week of school and work for A^4.  We hope everyone is doing well, enjoying the month of May, and staying healthy!!!

A boy and his dog.  Ayson "showing" Johnny Jet how to jump over the tree.

Working on heeling.

A line of dandelions in bloom along the edge of a gravel path - AND proof that it did not rain every day this week!

Stormy's days of confinement are over (yay!) but this pretty much sums up her past week:

On Friday evening, we planted two more apple trees in our yard.

Addie and her mountain of stuffed animals and blankets that are on her bed.

The time of year where Amy takes more "nature" pictures than kid pics :)

The crab apple tree is gorgeous!
