Winter Break

Kids had the week off for winter break and we made certain to have fun.  We hope that all of our family and friends are happy and healthy!!!

We "hunted" for the 2022 Treasure Hunt medallion (with no success) at the Onondaga Lake Park.  It was 58 degrees on Monday (with no wind!!!) and there were SO many people outside enjoying the gorgeous day.

Looking west across a frozen Onondaga Lake.

A trip to the Carol Watson Greenhouse to look for more treasures.  Carol told us that one greenhouse was FILLED with baby plants for spring!!!  :)

Addie next to a blooming "Tiger Eye" pansy

Check out the ferocious plant!

Ayson running in place and jumping on the beanbag while playing on his Xbox.

Ayson with a newly created terrarium.

We received more snow on Friday and went sledding at the little park.

Addie and Amy finally saw Sage in mid shed - Sage eats the skin that she sheds (so predators won't find her in the wild).

We went to Highland Forest on Saturday for more cross country skiing.  The kids did fantastic and loved the downhill glides and hills the best.

Adam captured the next 2 pictures as we were rounding a curve at the bottom of a gentle hill.

More fun outside in the snow by a little fire.

Addie in a little "bed" that she made for herself.

Addie asked Adam to bury her in snow - so he did!

Addie with a drawing that she copied from the Highlights magazine that we received as a Christmas gift from Auntie Julie.

Addie wanted to go ice skating - so we did!

Family and Friends

We hope that everyone is doing well and staying healthy!  The kids are excited to be on Winter break all next week and we made sure to play in the snow over the past weekend before our snow melts away!

On Thursday we said goodbye to Grandma Barb (Adam's Grandma).  During the service, Barb's grandchildren recounted their fondest memories of Grandma Barb including her special grilled cheese sandwiches and love of NASCAR.

Ms Annie picked the kids up from school on Friday as Amy had an appointment in Syracuse.  Ayson was in heaven with Gracie the cat sitting on him:)  Ayson LOVES to cuddle cats!  Thanks, Annie!!

While Addie figured out how to sit IN the cat bed.  Gracie wanted her bed back...

Saturday was a low key day at the house cleaning up after Shadow and getting chores done.  Poor Ayson and poor Shadow!!!  Shadow felt much better on Sunday (he didn't leave any surprises on the floor).

On Sunday, we went sledding at a friend's house.  The kids had so much fun!  Amy went down three times but stopped before she got hurt:)

Snow Fun Filled Weekend

We hope that all of our family and friends had a fabulous week and weekend!  Addie was not feeling well during the first part of the week due to her stomach bug but she was well enough during the weekend to have fun outside!

We have what appears to be a baby opossum that has been hanging around our yard.  Thunder is checking out "George"  :)

On Saturday we went for a hike at Tinker Falls

Cool fungi on the tree that we hiked by!

Check out the large "wheel" of snow that rolled down the hill!

Adam and Addie rolled more snow balls down the hill.

Ayson pretended to be squashed by a snowball.

Caught in the act!

It made it down the hill!

We chose Tinker Falls so that we could check out the ice at the waterfall :)

As we were leaving the waterfall, Addie rolled one more ball down the hill.

And then the kids decided to make a snowmen :)

Saturday afternoon was Winter Fest at Stafford Park - hosted by the Optimist Club
Free food, a sledding hill, sleigh rides, broom ball, ice skating (but the weather was too warm for skating), music, and fireworks!!!

Adam serving hotdogs and hot chocolate while wearing his Zinc International shirt!

A Polka band :)

Adam captured a great picture of the fireworks.  Unfortunately, Amy had to take the kiddos home WAY earlier because the kids were cold and cranky :)

On Sunday, Amy and Addie went ice skating while Adam and Ayson cut and stacked firewood!  Addie did a great job and did not need to use the "skate helper" for very long.  We hope to go skating again soon!!!
