Bye Bye, October!!!

October has FLOWN by and the kids are SO excited for Halloween!  This week was busy with Parent/Teacher conferences, a Halloween Party at the school, and a visit to Grandma's (so Daddy could bow hunt...no deer for the freezer this weekend!)

Look closely, a double rainbow from Mommy's drive home on Monday!

Mommy reading stories to the kiddos on Monday evening.  Nice pout face, Addie!

while Addie and Daddy played on the Kindles

On Friday afternoon, Mommy and Daddy attended Ayson and Addie's Parent Teacher conferences. Both kids are doing great in school are having fun (granted, Ayson told Addie that 1st grade is harder than Pre-k...Mommy thought "you JUST wait, Big Guy" ;)

First grader work in the hallway outside Ayson's classroom

Two weeks ago, the First graders went to Hospital Land (kids learn about hospitals and hygiene) so as to understand what happens if/when they get sick.
A picture and narration from Ayson.

A Halloween character that Ayson drew for Ms Mel when he was in Pre-K (hmm, maybe it was Kindergarten as the picture is pretty detailed for Pre-K).  Anyway, Ms Mel loved the picture SO much that she laminated it and puts it up every Halloween :)

Friday night was the Halloween Party at the school.
Addie was a butterfly ballerina

And Ayson went as Sparky from "Frankenweenie"

Once we got home from the party, the kiddos each found a gigantic card from the Anthony's wishing the kids Happy Halloween!  The kids were so excited/happy!  Thanks Jo, Dave, and Gi!!!!

On Saturday afternoon, Mommy and the kiddos joined Daddy at Grandma Collene's house (Daddy went to Grandma's right after the party Friday night so as to be able to hunt first thing Saturday morning).
Addie comparing how big her foot was to Daddy's foot...keep eating and growing big and strong, Addie! :)

On Sunday mid morning, we accompanied Daddy while he went "hunting."  LOL, Mommy had to return to the house quickly and on the way back to the family, she spotted two doe running in the opposite direction of Daddy and the kiddos :)

The kids trying to be quiet and wait for the deer :)

Mary Lou stopped by Grandma's for a visit and Mommy snapped a few pics of the girls and kiddos:)

A bit of Addie's school work:
Addie has been working on writing her name

Coloring and object placement

Numbers and writing

Painting

Ayson's school work:
The pumpkin puking out his guts (seeds and all)...he was so scared of the ghost...boys.

When is Mommy Coming Home and HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Grandpa Roger!

Mommy was gone for work again (Davenport, RI) and Daddy and the kids survived :)  Ayson did stay home from school on Wednesday with a sore throat (but no fever) and JUST today we noticed spots on Ayson's hands...so most likely Hand, Foot, Mouth disease. Otherwise, all is well with A^4 and we had a good weekend just relaxing and catching up on house/yard chores.

A picture from Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge (where Mommy's meeting was held...yes, life is hard :).

Since the meeting was held right at the Refuge, we made sure to explore during our lunch breaks :)

Our group went on an evening cruise on Tuesday night and had a fabulous time on the Schooner, Madeleine.

This shot reminds Mommy of the movie, "Goonies" :)

A view of a cave we found during a walk.

The NY work gang!

Daddy and the kiddos discovered that there is an apiary in the apple orchard...cool!

The peppers that Daddy dug up (to protect from frost) on the back porch getting some sun and the rose is fully blooming!!!

Tuesday morning view of the mountain.

Chicken soup (Campbells...the kids hated it!) and grilled cheese sandwiches for din din.

Helping Daddy practice with his bow.

Thursday morning mountain view.

Dinner in the boys room.  Daddy does not let the kids eat on the leather couch...so they have to sit together on the rocking chair...hahaha.

Friday morning mountain view.

Ayson was SO happy to see Mommy on Friday that he started climbing the walls!

Mommy and Auntie Holly used to climb the hallway walls when we were little.

Even though it was rainy on Saturday, we ventured out to pick out pumpkins and get a few groceries.
Anderson Farm Market had a little kid section...perfect!

Sand Art fun on Saturday afternoon...thanks Grandma Pat and Grandpa Roger!

Pumpkin carving time!

Pumpkins from left to right:
Ayson wanted Sparky from the movie "Frankenweenie", Daddy's "surprised" pumpkin, another pumpkin Ayson received from his farm tour on Monday, Mommy's "baby" pumpkin, and Addie's "scar face" pumpkin!

Sunday started off wet and cool so we played inside with the circuit sets that the kids received last year for Christmas. Of course the circuits with the helicopter blade was a HUGE hit!

Addie and her music circuit.
Hope last week's school picture smile did not look like this...hahaha.

Working on the Birthday card for Grandpa Roger!  Mommy lightly wrote the words for Addie's card (Addie told Mommy what to write) and had Addie trace over the words.

Ayson adding stickers to his card.

The finished cards.  They both wanted green paper since Grandpa was in the National Guard (Mommy and Daddy did not ask any more questions as we were tired :)

Ayson drew a broken heart with a "jumper cable" (from the early circuit fun) attached and that fixed the heart.

LOTS of stickers from Addie! We hope you have a GREAT Birthday on Monday, Grandpa!!!
