Apple Festival Weekend and a Visit with Grandma Collene

No major complaints from A^4 for the first full week of October.  Daddy did have to take Ayson to the Drs on Tuesday as Ayson had massive scabs/wounds from endless scratching of his hives from last week. Addie has been enjoying school but she is wiped out by the end of the day and is ready for bed before bedtime!  Ayson had his first taste of homework...spelling words :)  The Apple Festival was this weekend so A^4th had fun on the rides and eating "fair food."

Addie helping Daddy clean the fish tank...Blackie and Hammerhead say THANK YOU!!

Ugh, Ayson started to scratch the hives he developed last week and he then developed impetigo (bacterial skin infection). Check out Ayson's gruesome wounds!!!

Inspecting out the raspberry crop Tuesday night.

Ayson: "Would you like a raspberry, Mumma?!"
Mommy: "Um, when did you wash your hands last???? Thanks, but NO thanks!"

Go, go, go!

Taking a break Daddy?!?  :)  :)

Daddy was TRYiNG to get the lawn mowed before the Apple Festival this weekend and the lawn mower died...sigh.

Ayson practicing his spelling words.  He had his first spelling test on Thursday (no school on Friday) and he correctly spelled all of his words. Great job, Big Guy!

Addie fell asleep Friday before we even had dinner:)

Grandma Collene came over Friday night so as to join us on Saturday for the Apple Festival. Grandma brought a jar of hot peppers that Uncle Jay canned and wanted Daddy to try :)

Any nose hairs left, Daddy?

Grandma's turn...

and even Ayson wanted to experience the burn :)

Addie and Grandma ready for bed.

On Saturday, Daddy helped out parking cars at the festival (as part of his "dues" for the Hunt Club). Daddy took a picture of the food and cook that made sure the "parking attendants" were take care of through out the day.

Saturday day was drizzly/overcast but the kiddos still had a good time on the carnival rides and at the petting zoo.

Fishing for a prize...check out their smiles:)

The king and queen of the festival :)

On Sunday, after Daddy and Ayson came back from the away football game (they had to leave the house at 6:25 am ...eek!), we went back to the Festival for more food and rides.
The kiddos did not get to ride the ponies on Saturday because as soon as it started to rain on Saturday the ponies went home.
On Sunday, Ayson rode Mr Rogers and Addie is straight in back and riding Skippy. Ayson wanted the pony to go faster...

while Addie was just happy to be on a horse :)

Fun in the Farm Bureau "corn box"

Ferris wheel time!

Hi Addie!!

Addie on the "rainbow" horse of the merry-go-round.

We ran into Ayson's football friend, Noah, and his family and Ayson was able to ride "big kid rides"...GREAT as both Mommy and Daddy no longer like the "fast/spinny" rides!

ugh...but check out those smiles :)

Homework instructions from Mrs Zehner

Math

Writing/spelling
He completed some of his homework while at the After School Program...which Mommy was relieved to learn as on Wednesday and Thursday nights, Ayson is too tired to work on homework after football practice.
