Memorial Day

We hope our family and friends had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend with family and friends!!!  We were busy with the gardens and the kids were dealing with colds - but we still managed to have fun with friends and go swimming in the pool for the first time this season!!
Addie wrote an essay on what Memorial Day means to her - Addie is waiting to learn if her essay won the 5th grade contest at school - fingers crossed for Addie!

Amy and Addie visited the chickens Monday evening to cuddle with our babies.

Afterwards, Adam and Ayson practiced baseball while Addie ran around.

Crazy pretty sunset (even if the color is from pollution - fires from out west)

Addie's band concert was Wednesday night and we all had a good time.

On Friday, the kids and Amy had an extra day off and Amy, Mrs Oliver, and Kate (our friend housing our chickens) went to lunch and then we cuddled chickens :)

The kiddos playing while we were at lunch.

On Saturday, Emilia and Kate came over so the girls could swim.  Both girls wore mermaid tails :)

Warming up after swimming in 77 degree water

While the girls were swimming, Ayson worked on a paper mache costume.

The pictures are out of order BUT Saturday morning, the boys woke up early to go fishing at Labrador Pond and then the girls joined them for kayaking at a more civilized time (7:30 am).

Gorgeous morning!!!

On Sunday afternoon, we were back with Kate and her family (and the chickens!) while Adam helped Erik burn a huge brush pile.
Addie and her chicken, Gusty.

A too cute silkie chick - complete with feathers on its feet!

Ayson went home early and made chocolate chip cookies - Ayson sent us the below picture!!!

All the young chickens are ready for bed.

Another morning kayak and gardening on Monday.  Both kiddos were not feeling well (recovering and in the middle of colds) so we did not go to the Memorial Day parade.  We hope everyone is doing well!!!

Busy Week and Weekend!!

We had an eventful week and weekend with an art show, band concert, baseball games, Grandparents Day at the elementary school, our chicks went to their forever home (2 minutes down the road), and Grandpa Chuck and Marie came for a visit.  We hope all of our family and friends are happy, healthy, and enjoying spring!!

Addie wanted a picture of the water drop on the leaf :)

Tuesday night was the Jr High Band concert and the Jr/Sr High art show.  Amy took pics of the three pieces that Ayson had on display.

Ayson is behind the flute player (he plays trumpet)

Friday was Grandparents Day and Grandma Collene was Addie's date for the day.

Amy was working the bookfair during Grandparents Day (when the grandkids get the grandparents to buy the books and silly pens and toys...the school knows what it is doing!!)

On Friday evening, Amy and Addie took the chicks to their new home at our friend Kate's house.

Addie placing our chick on the roost so they know where to go at night :)

This was Friday night when Kate tucked the birds in for the night...our birds close together on the perch Addie showed them :)

Ayson had to baseball games on Saturday AND his team won both games!!!  Their first two wins of the season - the weather was perfect (sunny and mid 60s with a breeze).

We have new score boards and Adam took a pic of the score!

On Sunday, Grandpa Chuck and Marie came over for a visit.  Amy thought Grandpa was still in Florida and did not invite him to Grandparents do - sorry Grandpa!  Glad we got to see you on Sunday!!!

More gorgeous flowers

Happy Mother's Day!!

We had gorgeous weather this week - which was good as we had two evenings of baseball games and plenty of garden chores to catch up on.  Adam made it home from his world travels to Australia and Ireland!  Happy Mother's Day to all of the amazing 2 and 4 legged moms that we know :)

Another baseball game for Ayson on Tuesday!

Our lilacs are in full bloom and we are loving the scent!!!

Addie being silly - she asked to be led around on a leash during our garden walks.

Gorgeous violets with the purples and yellows :)

Ayson had another baseball game on Thursday and the game was done within 2 hours!

Meaning there was plenty of time to hang out with the chicks!

Addie and Carolina (Adam's chick is a rooster)

Addie and her chick, Gusty.

Adam and Carolina.

The chicks hopped up on the swing Amy was sitting on!

The weekend was full of garden chores and catching up on inside chores.

Addie wanted to bounce on Sunday :)

Happy Mother's Day!  The kiddos and Amy with the new hanging baskets.
