We had a great first week of September and we spent Labor Day weekend with Annie and Bob at Lake Bonaparte. We hope all our family and friends are doing well and getting ready for fall!
Ayson ordered another used computer on EBay and it arrived on Tuesday - this one has a cd/dvd drive.

Our first monarch emerged from the chrysalis on the front of the house as a male monarch butterfly on Thursday morning - Addie took the picture while Amy was at work.
Ayson made homemade pizza for dinner Thursday night - 1 peperoni and 1 spam pizza :)
On Friday our first tank chrysalis was close to having a monarch emerge!

Adam was in Denver for a work trip and he took this picture during a hike. The last time he hiked Rattlesnake Gulch in Eldorado State Park was more than 20 years ago!
On Saturday late morning, we headed to Lake Bonaparte to spend Labor Day weekend with Ms Annie and Mr Bob. Thank you for the wonderful weekend filled with food, friends, and lake life!! Addie and Annie on the funicular (cable car) with all of our goodies: we planned and brought yummy food with us...none of us went hungry!

After the dogs went for a swim, we went for a boat ride. We demolished a regular size container of sour cream and onion dip in less than 24 hours!

Ms Annie and Mr Bob gave Addie a gift for the great care that Addie put in to watching the cats, Whiskey and Gracie this summer. Addie was the first to notice that Gracie was not feeling well and was able to provide excellent details to Ms Annie on the cat puke Addie found at the house while Annie and Bob were away. Ms Annie had to make the tough decision to euthanize Gracie on Friday afternoon during another vet visit as Gracie went through a rapid decline (so sad). Thank you for the thoughtful gift!
We were treated to a firework show from the water Saturday night and the dogs did great - they did not show any sign of distress. Barely visible in the picture is Ayson and Jet sitting at the front of the boat for the firework show.
The boys slept in the bunk house with their dogs - both dogs started out in the beds with their masters but the dogs did end up sleeping on the floor :)

We went for a walk along the Oswegatchie River and Addie immediately found a frog :)

After the walk, Adam, Ayson and the dogs went back to the camp and Bob, Annie, Amy, and Addie went to a gift shop with the largest fiberglass loon in the Adirondacks - meet Mr Beaks!
There was an amazing candle with a name of "An excessive amount of marshmallows in hot chocolate" that everyone thought was amazing (and it made us hungry).
Meanwhile back at camp, Adam and the dogs relaxed while Ayson worked on summer school work.

We all laughed at the tiny glass dish with 1 scoop of ice cream that Ms Annie gave Adam (no smore for Adam)- she added another scoop to his dish.
Amy and Adam went kayaking Sunday afternoon - check out the roots of the birch tree. The picture is not as clear because Amy had her phone in a ziplock bag (to protect the phone from the waves on the water).
