Daddy's Home (and Mommy Survived)!!!

Daddy was in Brussels, Belgium all last week which left Mommy to hold down the fort. Mommy was tired by the end of the week but she survived. Having pretty "easy" kids makes going it alone that much more manageable. Ayson only had one major melt down and cried "I want Daddy" and I felt like saying "I want Daddy too!" Ayson did manage to lock Mommy out of the main house on Wednesday. Ayson was crying because he wanted to be with Mommy and Mommy was close to tears because she could see Ayson and Addie but could not get to them. Mommy had to coax Ayson to turn the lock the other direction. While he was tall enough to accidentally lock Mommy out, he needed to stand on cushions to turn the lock the other direction...and he did it! Daddy made it home safe and sound Sunday night and Ayson stayed up past his bedtime to wait for Daddy.

Mommy was also testing out new diapers on Addie last week: g diapers. They are cloth diapers and have another option of using a disposable insert, instead of cloth, that can be composted (wet diaper only), flushed (not in septic systems...which we have), or thrown out in the trash.

Our patch of lily of the valley (one of Mommy's favorite flowers) is really doing well and smells so nice!

Ayson helping Daddy with his suitcase. Ayson: "Daddy, can I go with you?!"

Ayson helping Mommy in the garden on Wednesday.

"Auntie" Denise came over on Wednesday to visit with A^3 :)
Addie: "Hi Mom"

Addie: "You make me smile"

A closer look at Addie's cute outfit from Wednesday.

Ayson's new trick to see who is at the park across the street.

Another cute outfit on Thursday.

Mommy and Ayson got outside as much as possible during Addie's naps. Granted, we had to stay in range of the baby monitor so no going across the street to the park :(

Ayson looking at the wildflower strips with Mommy on Friday and "picking" a flower for Mommy...sigh. The morning was a bit chilly but the day turned out gorgeous.

Ayson playing with his bubble machine. We had a great time chasing the bubbles and trying to catch them.

On Friday afternoon, Grandma Collene came out to visit with A^3. She was a HUGE help to Mommy and Ayson had a blast with Grandma. Grandma was also able to get some one on one time with Addie. Grandma had pizza with us for dinner, helped with bath night, and even read Ayson his bedtime stories. Thank you so much, Grandma!!!

As Saturday was supposed to be rather warm, Mommy set up Ayson's pool in the morning so that after his nap, the water would be nice and warm. Well, Ayson did not want to wait until after his nap and had to get in that morning...notice the pile of clothes in the picture.

Ayson playing with neighbor Gianna Saturday afternoon.

Mommy's friend Lucy, checked in on A^3 on Saturday and wanted to know if we needed anything from the store...so thoughtful!! After she dropped off the few items, Sam joined Ayson in the pool for a bit. Not sure what Ayson is doing in the picture but this is the best one with both boys looking at the camera :)

On Saturday, Ayson was pretty subdude in the pool but by Sunday he was jumping, sliding, splashing, and pooring water over himself and Gianna. Both kids had a great time. Thanks for playing, Gianna!!

A short video of pool antics on Sunday afternoon. Ayson did NOT want to go inside for dinner Sunday night.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all of the Mom's in our life! This includes the mom's to four legged kids too :) Another week has flown by. Ayson was his usual non stop chattering, on the go self and Addie is stealing our hearts!

Daddy dressed Ayson in a Detroit Tigers baseball shirt and Mommy had to make sure a picture was taken for Grandpa Roger.

Love the baseball on the butt!

Tower building with Daddy on Tuesday. Ayson: "Daddy how high can it go?!"

Oh No!

Addie giving Daddy her pout face. Both Ayson (as a baby) and Addie have Mommy's pout face :)

Ayson found his winter boots in the closet and INSISTED on wearing them even though it was rather warm for winter boots...hey, he's two! Mommy was able to get Ayson to pose for a picture...

On Sunday, Daddy made blueberry waffles and gave Mommy her Mother's Day gift: a gift certificate to Mommy's favorite Spa....ah, Thank you Daddy! Depending on who was napping, Mommy and Daddy spent time outside with Ayson and Addie. Then, once Ayson woke up form his nap, we went to the park and also had ice cream - yum! Ayson and Daddy watching the ants that Daddy uncovered when he moved a big flat rock.

Ayson pushing Mommy on the swing. Mommy: "Weee"

Mommy and Addie enjoying the warm weather on the front porch.

Ayson had a great time at the park! We ran into a few friends from home and Ayson took Hanna by the hand (no words) and directed her over the the play ground set...too cute!

Then he watched Hanna pick up wood chips and sprinkle them around so he then had to do the same.

Sigh, Ayson had to climb UP the slide after watching the big kids do the same on the play ground equipment for older kids.

Bouncy, bouncy, bouncy!

Addie was a good girl and was either sleeping or just looking around the entire time. Daddy captured a smile...so precious.

Ayson wanted to swing on the BIG kid swing. Take a look at how excited he looks :)

Happy Day, It's May!

Every time Addie gets a gift, Ayson says "Happy Day, a present!" The week was warmer than the end of April and we spent as much time outdoors as possible, so Happy May! Addie is doing well. She is starting to coo and "talk" more during her quite alert periods. Ayson is going non-stop and never is without a question such as "what is this?" And Mommy and Daddy are just trying to keep up with the kids. Granted, Mommy firmly believes that if she slept 10 hrs each night and also took a 2 hr nap each day that she could keep up with ANY kid :)

Look how big our Baby Doll is getting!

Addie making faces and cooing at the mobile and her reflection.

Ayson playing in his barn on Wednesday. It's more of a tight fit these days! Ayson: "Mumma, close the doors!"

Hello!

Kisses! Actually, Ayson is stingy with kisses (but he gives great hugs) and this picture is of him making the "moo" sound for the cows that live in his barn. So this picture is for Grandpa Roger, who complains about Ayson's stingy kisses :)

One of the cute outfits from Uncle Doug, Aunt Josie, and the boys. Such a precious baby doll!

Daddy chatting with Addie. I was standing in the kitchen, on the other side of the counter so I was using the zoom and that must be the reason for Addie's glowing eyes.

Ayson was a good boy this week (no hitting, biting, or kicking Daddy...a phase we hope is fleeting) so he got to go on a tractor ride!

Ayson "driving"

Grandpa Chuck came over for the weekend to spend time with the grand kids. Ayson had a blast with Grandpa and wore poor Grandpa out! Three generations of Ryans standing in front of Daddy's Char-Griller Trio smoker.

Daddy, Grandpa Chuck, and Addie.

On Saturday night, Daddy told Mommy "come outside after you put Addie to bed because Dad and I are going to light the chiminea." When Mommy finally went outside, the chiminea was going but the huge bonfire at the neighbors house was stealing the shows and the boys (as the bigger fire drew all the boys to the flame)!

You can just barely make out Daddy and Grandpa near the bottom left of the picture...this was a huge bonfire!
