Dog Days of Summer

Daddy was a jelly/jam making machine last week! He made black raspberry jelly and 2 batches of strawberry jam!  We were treated to crepes on Saturday...yum!
Addie's new words: fan, ball, and cheese.  She is also getting good at mimicking us.  On Sunday, she repeated Ayson's "No" to perfection.  She listen's when Mommy says "no" but when Daddy tells Addie "no, Addie cries :)
Ayson has been on the go and pretty much crashing at night.  He sang his ABCs to himself on Saturday and he counts down from 10 while Mommy counts down how much time he has left in time out:)  Adam taught Ayson what "throwing a person under the bus" means (as in "telling" on someone or blaming a person for doing something").

Monday
Daddy surprised us by coming home early and setting up the pool so we could all cool down!  Thanks Daddy!
Hey, at least Ayson is peeing outside of the pool!
Doesn't Addie look so content!

Addie reaching for Mumma.  Addie turned 16 months on Monday!

Tuesday
The kids hanging out in the Boys Room while Mommy got dinner ready (cheese quesadillas)

Wednesday
Another pool day and Daddy got soaked!  Mommy loves this picture- Addie with her cute butt and Ayson with his back that goes straight to his legs.

Thursday
A picture of Addie standing next to the sunflowers.

Ayson posing with his airplane.  He gets upset if we don't take a picture of him (if Addie just had one of her taken).

Relaxing with Daddy.

Friday
It was so hot that we all hung out in Ayson's room (double bed with rails so we can all play on it and not immediately fall off) with the air conditioner.

Addie smiling for the camera.  Addie now can say "cheese" and smile pretty for the camera.

We had a relaxing weekend at home just playing with the kiddos and catching up on house chores.
Saturday:
We played indoors most of the day due to rain...

but then the skies cleared and we went over to the park for a bit of fun.

Sunday:
Daddy and Ayson went to Stafford Park while Addie took a morning nap.  We were trying to tire Ayson out so that he would take a good nap on Sunday.  NO such luck.  He did have a spectacular meltdown around 5:30 and was sleeping by 6:15.

Ayson helping Daddy move patio blocks...too cute in their dorky outfits :)

More pool time after the afternoon nap (for Addie) and quite time (for Ayson).

Pool time!

The weather has been warm and we are giving the kiddie pool a workout!  Our neighbors are getting a deck for their pool so now Ayson wants a deck for our pool.  We keep trying to tell him that the yard is our deck :) He is not satisfied with that answer and he now wants a new pool AND a deck!

Addie's new words for the week:  bird, ball, and powder (as in baby powder).  She has also been saying "Mumma" non-stop and she even has the imperious tone done perfect!  She is on the move and is almost running now (usually to get away from Ayson or trying to catch something like Mason or a ball)
We are working with Ayson on being nice to his friends.  He was not very nice to his friend Sam on Saturday and he then shoved Addie on Sunday...sigh, we are working on it!

Last Sunday afternoon:  the below cute pictures did not make it onto the previous blog post.

Cuddling with Daddy after a fun week and long weekend!

Tuesday:
Strolling through the yard

Both kids now love to eat sugar snap peas from the garden (woohoo!)
Daddy feeding Addie peas.

The kids were rolling around on the floor together and giggling.

Wednesday:
Sandbox time!

Saturday:  Addie really enjoyed her breakfast!

This is Ayson smiling, no really.

Sunday:
After Addie finished her lunch, she wanted to sit with her Daddy :)

The boys went berry picking (black raspberries).  All of the rain we have had meant that the berry crop did not get all dried out and Daddy was able to pick enough berries to make jelly.

Ayson posing next to his robot.

Sunday was outrageously warm so we all hung out in the kiddie pool!

Vacation in the Soo!

We made it safely to and from the Soo for our annual trip to visit Mommy's family and everyone had a great time.  We did end up leaving a day late because Mommy messed up the flight times...7 am and not 9 am.  No worries, since we were still on vacation, we went to the Zoo instead and flew out on Sunday.  Ayson did not want to leave and told Mommy and Daddy that he was going to stay with Grandma and Grandpa.

Addie's new words were Baby and No no no.
Daddy taught Ayson some new potty words including: "somebody killed the bathroom" and "chiclet"

Saturday:
Ayson posing with Daddy at the Zoo.

Addie checking out the annenomes.

The Syracuse airport has a cockpit that you can sit in.  Of course both boys enjoyed pushing all of the buttons!

On Monday, we all traveled to Traverse City to meet up with Auntie Holly, Uncle Alek, and the kids at Great Wolf Lodge, an indoor waterpark.  Everyone had a blast!

Ayson sitting in the Wizards throne at the lodge.

The two boys playing in the arcade.

The girls got in on the fun too!

Every five minutes, a huge bucket fills with water and spills over into a "splash pool" area.  It was fun to watch kids (big and small) get soaked.

On Tuesday, we headed to the Cherry Festival and checked out a few kid activities.  Addie enjoyed playing with the Legos while Ayson could not get enough of the bouncy house.

Taking a lunch break during the festivities.

On Wednesday, we played at the park.

On Thursday, Addie got to re-meet some of Mommy's friends who stopped by for a visit and also got reacquainted with Great Aunt Shirley and Great Grandma Roe.

Ayson had fun playing with Aedan and Maddie (Jen and Nico's kids) and all three kids stayed up to watch the fireworks (Addie was sleeping :)
We had a hard time getting all three kids to look in the direction of the camera.  Mommy was waving her hands above Jen's head and then Ayson and Maddie started to raise their hands too :)

Ayson was SO tired afterwards that he fell asleep in Daddy's arms and...

did not wake up when Daddy got Ayson ready for bed.  Look at those poor scuffed up knees!!

Friday:
Addie walked over to Grandpa and wanted up and Grandpa was nice enough to share his snack with her.

In the afternoon, we went to Rotary Park and watched the Lake freighters go by while we dined on Clydes drive in food...yum!

Grandma and Addie taking a stroll.

Daddy and Addie.

Grandpa pointing out the big waves caused by the freighter.

We then drove to Aunt Shirley and Uncle Al's house on the water for a quick visit.  The weather was so warm that we all went for a walk in the water.

Addie loved splishing and splashing!

Smile!

Both kids enjoyed having the adults lift them up and splash them back down into the water.

Ayson even got a spin from Great Aunt Shirley and Grandma!
