Happy Anniversary and Happy Birthday, Amy

A fun filled week with Amy and Adam's Anniversary on Monday, a girlfriend birthday dinner date on Wednesday, family dinner date on Thursday, a surprise excursion to the zoo on Friday, and kayaking on Saturday!  Whew!  We hope that everyone is happy and healthy and enjoying time outside with family and friends!!!

Labrador Hollow Unique Area boardwalk stroll to check on the blueberries:)

Addie spotted the fuzzy bumble bee on joe-pye weed

Addie also spotted this cocoon

The rain clouds were all around us - we did have to run for the truck but we did not get drenched :)

The Roe-Ryan's July 29, 2019 - the weather was much the same in 2006 - hahaha!

Ayson working on his costume for Halloween (and yes, he still had his electronic privileges.  He just can't be on for long ;)

Circuit fun

On Wednesday, Amy went to dinner with Neighbors Jo and Denise to celebrate our end of July/early August birthdays!  The view from the Blue Canoe Grill.

Thursday night dessert that we all shared :)

Friday was Amy's birthday!

Birthday cards
Addie's- She drew a picture of our dead cat Mason "I miss you.  Do you remember me?"

Ayson's card

He drew a section of the solar system:  The Sun is the Sun (of course), I am Earth, Ayson is the moon, Adam is Saturn, and Addie is the little planet :)

He even drew a maze on the back of his card - an activity card!

On Friday, Amy took the day off from work and took the kids to swimming lessons

and then surprised the kids with an excursion to the Wild Animal Park in Chittenango :)

Grizzly bear

Feeding the zebra via a shoot

Check out the giraffe's tongue!

The kids stated that the BEST part was the BIRDS!  We purchased little sticks coated in bird seed and then walked into a building that had ~ 50 parakeets in it.  The birds landed all over us just trying to get at the seeds :)

Ayson petting a parakeet

Bird on the hat and in the hand!

On Friday evening, we built Fairy (or bird) houses at the Stone Quarry Hill Art Park in Cazenovia (sponsored by the library).  The Art Park is FILLED with all kinds of artwork!

Ayson was not certain he should attend, did not want to be the only boy, and he wanted to leave as soon as we parked the car.

However, once the kids started building (bird house for Ayson and bird/fairy house for Addie), Ayson did not want to leave!  (He was not the only boy his age) Ayson insisted that we use only "natural" items and nothing "manmade" so no pipe cleaners or plastic beads :)

Tada!

Exploring the Art Part after their house was completed

Random wood chunks to play with that reminded Amy of thread spools.

We could have kept exploring but we did not want to run out of daylight!

We rounded Friday out with S'mores

An early morning kayak at Labrador Pond was Amy's birthday wish!  We missed the sunrise this year but the kids did MUCH better (less complaining ;)

Amy decided she wanted a little taste of everything for a dessert: carrot cake, blueberry pie, AND peach pie:)
Singing Happy Birthday a day late (since we did not have the desserts Friday night)

The boys swimming (complete with Ayson jumping in and Adam swimming the breast stroke) in the imaginary pool...sigh.  Due to roots, we are now getting stone delivered on Monday and MAYBE the pool will get installed (sitting in boxes in the garage) within 2 weeks!

The back stroke ;)

So as not to fool anyone, this week the kids bickered over the following: chairs, closets, lights, food, fans, a bouncy ball, CAT toys, and whose turn it was to clean the cat litter.  Luckily, the "button pushing" never lasts long and the kids are back to playing nicely together (or at least in the same room ;)
