Fourth of July with Family

A week and weekend of water and family.  Auntie Julie, Uncle Dan, and cousins plus Grandpa and Pama joined us for the Fourth of July weekend.  We spent our time swimming, playing, fishing, and eating!  We hope everyone had a wonderful weekend with family and friends!

We took the kids fishing at Little York on Saturday and the fish were biting!
Addie caught so many fish!  Adam was busy removing hooks from fish and adding new worms :)

Our Town Community Days, sponsored by the Optimist Club, were postponed due to the pandemic back in early June and that is typically when we have fireworks.  As an alternative, fireworks were held at the Apple Festival grounds near our house which allowed for cars to be spaced apart so that everyone could sit near their car to enjoy the fireworks.

We were fortunate to be able to enjoy the fireworks from our back yard

Summer Days

We have been enjoying the warm days (pool weather) and cool evenings (sleeping weather) that we have had the last few weeks.  We are taking time to notice the lightening bugs, different birds in the yard, which flowers are blooming (the kids want to sip lily nectar), the growth of the cucumbers (Addie), pumpkins (Ayson), tomatoes, sunflowers, spinach, peppers....(Adam and Amy), and the craters in the moon.   We hope all of our family and friends are taking care of themselves and being kind to themselves and others. 

Ayson putting together a lego set that he dismantled last year.  The hardest part was sifting through three bins of legos looking for the correct pieces (Amy's job since she told Ayson that before he bought a NEW set, he should reconstruct his previous sets)

On Sunday, we went for a walk at Labrador (to check out the blueberry crop)


The kids still insist on wearing their masks even with no one else around.  To a kid (that does not know of anyone seriously sick), wearing a mask must feel like Halloween all year long.


Afterwards, we went strawberry picking!!  We were able to pick 4 pounds in less than 30 minutes!

Hello Summer and Happy Father's Day

First week of summer vacation for the kiddos!!! Sleeping in, electronics, loafing/lounging around, reading, playtime, POOL time, and staying up late :)  Adam and Ayson spent the weekend at Grandpa Chuck's and Amy and Addie were supposed to drive out Saturday morning but Amy's car started making high squealing noises...brakes.  So, Amy and Addie made the best of their Saturday at home by inviting friends over for a swim (while keeping a distance), watching a movie, and painting Addie's nails :)  We hope all of our family and friends are healthy and are much more aware of our fellow human beings.

We finally got out on the water this summer.  Addie paddling the kayak.  It is time to get Addie her own boat!






Thursday was the School Farewell Drive by at the elementary school.  The Teachers were all lined up outside on the sidewalk and the parents/kids drove by and waved to everyone.  Addie did NOT want a picture.
