Cows, Pool, and Blueberries!

A gorgeous week of cool sleeping weather temps and perfect daytime summer temps!  The week flew by and everyone is enjoying the pool.  On Saturday, we puttered around the yard and house and on Sunday we visited friends and picked a ton blueberries!  We hope that everyone is staying happy and healthy and not being too hard on themselves while we all adjust to what life throws our way.

Ayson went with Adam to help milk cows on Tuesday night.  Afterwards, Ayson said his legs were tired BUT that he had fun and that he wanted to go again.  The highlight for Ayson: feeding the baby calves :)

Amy had purchased the original Spirograph for a March birthday party that was canceled (along with the kiddo's friend birthday parties...now they want a party TWICE as big for next year - hahaha), so we made the Spirograph our own and had fun making intricate designs on a rainy evening.

The flower, herb, and vegetable gardens are doing amazing this year!




We roasted smores and look for the comet (no success in our valley) BUT the evening was gorgeous and the air was filled with lightening bugs!!


On Sunday, we drove to Ithaca to visit with a colleague and friend of Amy and Adam's AND to pick highbush blueberries.  In a typical year, Gian and his family pick 80 pounds of blueberries! 




The kids helped pick blueberries and they also played with Snowball, a little white fluff ball that belongs to their daughter, Emma.


We came home with over 17 POUNDS of blueberries - insane!  We could have kept on picking - there were SO many blueberries BUT we had other things that we wanted to do:)


Our other "tasks" included eating out at Bob's BBQ for lunch and swimming :)

Summer Days

The week was filled with lots of swimming, berry picking, and keeping cool plus a few fun activities on the weekend.  We could not ask for more.  We hope everyone is doing well, making time for what is important, and not being too hard on themselves.

Ayson wanted to make pancakes on Saturday morning so Adam walked Ayson through the pancake making process (and the clean up)!  Yum and THANKS Ayson and Adam!!!


Ms Annie (our friend that was away) stopped by to give us a few thank you gifts for watering her plants during one of the hottest and driest weeks of the summer.  We were glad to help!

Yay, the garden is looking fabulous and in addition to tomatoes ripening and pumpkins growing, we have sunnies and purple coneflowers.




It poured at our house Saturday night with about 2 inches of rain!!
Which led to a cool Sunday morning - perfect for a kayak on Labrador Pond with the family!!!
Addie paddling...we will be getting another kayak this summer as Addie is too big now to sit with Amy in the same kayak.  Ayson paddled the entire time  - the kids are growing up!

Fourth of July with Family

A week and weekend of water and family.  Auntie Julie, Uncle Dan, and cousins plus Grandpa and Pama joined us for the Fourth of July weekend.  We spent our time swimming, playing, fishing, and eating!  We hope everyone had a wonderful weekend with family and friends!

Cousins


Our Town Community Days, sponsored by the Optimist Club, were postponed due to the pandemic back in early June and that is typically when we have fireworks.  As an alternative, fireworks were held at the Apple Festival grounds near our house which allowed for cars to be spaced apart so that everyone could sit near their car to enjoy the fireworks.

We were fortunate to be able to enjoy the fireworks from our back yard
