Spring Break and Happy Easter!

Spring Break 2021 - The kids lived their best "slug/electronics life" until noon each day and then we did something "fun" in the afternoon.  We hope that all of our family and friends had a wonderful Easter weekend!!!

Holly- do you remember the toothpick and popsicle boats that we used to float down the gutter in front of our house after a rain???!?

Ayson made a tooth pick boat and floated in in a bowl along with a few new pool toys :)

Addie racing Ayson's drone across the park

They had so much fun just dinking around.

Tuesday was gorgeous (for late March) and we met friends at the school playground.  Hahaha.  It was not lost on the kids that they went to SCHOOL during spring break:)

Ice cream on the back porch!!!  Amy gave Addie her cone (Amy's choice was not available and her 2nd choice turned out to NOT contain any chocolate)

Addie wanted to surprise the boys with April Fools notes that she placed on food containers within the fridge :)

On Friday afternoon, we went for a walk in our valley on Farmer Rick's property (east side of the valley where Adam cuts wood)

The temps did not get above 35 but the sun was out and the wind was at our backs for the hike up hill!

Can you see Adam?!?!?!

Waterfall picture!

The boys already discussing chicken wings and pizza for dinner.

The kids are two tiny dots on the far edge of the field - they raced back to the truck parked at the bottom of the hill.

Crazy cat!  Thunder has couches, beds, people, and a cat condo for his nap but he chooses a tight box with a lumpy bottom (electronic devices storage container).  Ha, the horses are watching Thunder while he naps.

Trip to Grandma's on Saturday and a visit with the cousins

Easter Egg hunt and Addie was no longer the littlest egg finder!!  Three year old Bronson joined in the hunt :)

The kids checking out the goodies that the Easter Bunny left!

The kids with their brown bunnies that reappear every Easter :)

Adam working with his new toy - a pill box-hahaha!

We Made It Through Another MARCH!!!

This week, the kids finished reading the All School read book, "No Talking" and it was fun to watch the smiles on the kid's faces while listening to the book.   It was also the end of the school marking period and both kiddos are doing GREAT in school.  We are so proud of them for doing their best even with the uncertainty of COVID, masks, and social distance requirements.  NOW the kids are on Spring break for all next week and they are excited that they get to sleep in!!!!

Addie's Science class house. She had to build a roof that would prevent rain from entering the house for a unit on weather.

Addie was the "Secret Agent" in her class last week. Addie has been waiting patiently for her turn to be the Secret Agent!!

A gorgeous pansy that made it through the winter!

Kids "flying"  :)

Working on next winters wood supply.

Addie wanted a picture with HER chunk of wood.  Yes, the kids bickered over a chunk of wood.

Their job was to stand the wood on its end so that Adam could easily pick them up to stack.

Hello, Spring!!!

Smores!!!

A great way to end a Saturday afternoon.

The kids are on Spring Break as of Friday and eating Smores is a GREAT way to start.

A little drone time

Ayson made a candle out of half a stick of butter and toilet paper and we used the candle as ambiance as we ate breakfast :)

Addie's cat, Thunder, LOVES to steal pipe cleaners and play with them - even if the pipe cleaners are part of a cat headband :)

Happy Birthday, Addie!

Happy Birthday Addie!

How is it that you are NINE years old!!!!  We love you SO much and are delighted in the compassionate and kind person you are becoming.

Trip down memory lane:

Four year old smiles

The kids did not have school on Addie's birthday.  So Amy worked until noon and then took the afternoon off to play whatever Addie wanted to play:
Candyland

Glitter glue pictures - tracing the pattern

Now the glue and glitter

Homemade slime was next on the To Do list

Addie added glitter to her slime

Birthday dinner of choice!

Addie wanted a carrot AND a cheese cake for her birthday cake.  We may have sampled the cheese cake on Sunday :)

Addie also gently blew out her candles

Opening cards from Grandma Collene

The finished glitter dragon!

Thunder snoozing in the cat house that Addie made.

While shadow napped in the condo.

Amy went to the dentist on Wednesday and saw the kid's thank you cards on the bulletin (they each received a $10  gift card for being part of the no cavity club)

Ayson made paper hats for friends, family, and the cats :)

The temps in the high 50s had all the kids in the trampoline

Addie thought standing on Didda's feet was TOO high!

Ayson's turn - he is too big for Adam to hold up for long - but they did it!

Super Ayson (and Adam)!
