April Rain and Snow Showers

A quick week with SNOW on Wednesday and Thursday and Amy in Grand Island (Niagara River) for 2 nights.  We are sending good thoughts and love to all of our family and friends!

We played Headbands Monday night and Amy hand picked items for the family :)

Fitting that Amy was an orange

Hahaha.  Ayson LOVES ketchup and he had a hard time guessing what food item it was (more of a topping than a food)

Ugh. Addie had ants in her room - coming in through the walls- earlier this spring so Amy made sure to give her an ant card for the game!

A view from the Grand Island hotel room - sunrise over the Niagara River.

Gorgeous tulips

On Saturday, the boys went to the Barber, grocery shopping, and finished mulching the gardens.  Amy and Addie went to a near by horse farm to meet Dutch, a horse that now belongs to McKenzie and Leena :)
Meeting the goats

Addie loved riding Dutch and she helped brush him down after her ride:)

Addie said that she may want to take lessons.  Yay!

April Showers

A cooler week kept us indoors during the week (and NO pictures!) but we spent Saturday and Sunday mulching the gardens.  Now we will be able to hike and kayak (and swim once it is warmer) with most of our yard chores completed!  The kids slept GREAT Saturday night and we are certain they will sleep soundly on Sunday night as well due to the outside chores:)

We are living in our own little bubble of normalcy and we continue to send good thoughts to all of our family and friends and to everyone who may be suffering due to the loss of a loved one.

Sedum holding water after a rain on Saturday

Ayson lost a tooth that has been wiggly for awhile.  He stated it took almost an entire tissue box of tissues to get the tooth out...sigh.

The kids were so THRILLED to be mulching.

Temps were in the low 50s - perfect for yard work!

Addie: IF looks could kill, Mumma...

April Flowers and Fun

Last week was gorgeous and we spent plenty of time outside with the cats watching us from the windows.  All is well with A^4 and we hope the same for our family and friends. Happy Birthday to Pama!!!!

We planted sugar snap peas and spinach on Monday.  The spinach came on a roll of paper - made it easy to plant:)

The kids found grubs in the garden and made the grubs a home in their new flower pots.

Working on another Sudoku puzzle

Addie with a sticker by number puzzle that she completed.

LOOK quick!  Shadow let Ayson hold him.  Poor Ayson, he loves to hold cats and cuddle them but Shadow only cuddles next to Ayson (not on his lap) AND he is not fond of being held.

Our daffodils are blooming!!!

Gorgeous day!

The temps on Thursday reached 79 degrees so we had to break out the sprinkler!!  Last year, we did the same thing on April 25th and the temperature was only 64 - BRRrrr!

We got the bikes ready for the 2021 season.  Addie will need a new bike this year as she has gotten tall!
Can you see the ball that Addie is playing with?

On Friday night, the kids played Minecraft together - they were building their own island worlds.

Saturday was absolutely gorgeous so we made a plan to get up early and hike to the "Tippy Top" before everyone else.  This photo was taken at 9:30 and it felt like we were getting away with something by having the entire view to ourselves for the first 20 minutes.  And then others started to arrive so we started back down.

2021 Family photo

We dinked around in the creek flipping rocks and we found one medium sized crayfish and two little salamanders!

On Monday, our friend Annie dropped off a container of Dansk Danish butter Cookies and this is what the tin looked like on Saturday afternoon :)

Perfect end to Saturday

It rained Sunday afternoon and Ayson cleaned the fort (of spiders and bugs) and then he and Addie sat in the fort, eating snacks and singing songs.  Too cute!

Spring Break and Happy Easter!

Spring Break 2021 - The kids lived their best "slug/electronics life" until noon each day and then we did something "fun" in the afternoon.  We hope that all of our family and friends had a wonderful Easter weekend!!!

Holly- do you remember the toothpick and popsicle boats that we used to float down the gutter in front of our house after a rain???!?

Ayson made a tooth pick boat and floated in in a bowl along with a few new pool toys :)

Addie racing Ayson's drone across the park

They had so much fun just dinking around.

Tuesday was gorgeous (for late March) and we met friends at the school playground.  Hahaha.  It was not lost on the kids that they went to SCHOOL during spring break:)

Ice cream on the back porch!!!  Amy gave Addie her cone (Amy's choice was not available and her 2nd choice turned out to NOT contain any chocolate)

Addie wanted to surprise the boys with April Fools notes that she placed on food containers within the fridge :)

On Friday afternoon, we went for a walk in our valley on Farmer Rick's property (east side of the valley where Adam cuts wood)

The temps did not get above 35 but the sun was out and the wind was at our backs for the hike up hill!

Can you see Adam?!?!?!

Waterfall picture!

The boys already discussing chicken wings and pizza for dinner.

The kids are two tiny dots on the far edge of the field - they raced back to the truck parked at the bottom of the hill.

Crazy cat!  Thunder has couches, beds, people, and a cat condo for his nap but he chooses a tight box with a lumpy bottom (electronic devices storage container).  Ha, the horses are watching Thunder while he naps.

Trip to Grandma's on Saturday and a visit with the cousins

Easter Egg hunt and Addie was no longer the littlest egg finder!!  Three year old Bronson joined in the hunt :)

The kids checking out the goodies that the Easter Bunny left!

The kids with their brown bunnies that reappear every Easter :)

Adam working with his new toy - a pill box-hahaha!

Legos rule!
