Goodbye May!

Back to reality the last full week in May with temps in the 50s and 60s.  Amy wished the wood stove was going:)  We continue to send good thoughts to our family and friends!

The kiddos working on a science project of the stars/constellations with glow in the dark paint.  Thanks to Ayson's teacher for giving Addie a kit too!!!

The kiddos had Friday off (as a "snow day" give back) SO, the whole family took the day off.  We tried to stay up to watch the stars but we did not stay up past 10 pm.

The boys learning how to whistle by sticking their fingers in their mouths (Ayson looked it up on YouTube)

Friday fort time

The kids took their fort down to the basement so that they could also watch a movie in the dark.

Too cute!

The inside fort tunnel

The kids decided it was too hard to watch the movie in the fort so they wound up on their bean bags.

The kiddos are in another Leggo phase and each ordered new sets that arrived on Friday!

We hiked a new section at Labrador Unique Area on Saturday.  After hiking behind and above the waterfall we hiked south east instead of northwest to the "tippy top."  The trail was gorgeous and apparently we turned around before we came to another waterfall!

We found what we think is a gerbera daisy growing above the waterfall

Top of the falls

We had lunch at this spot before we continued our 3 mile hike.

Ayson was ready to be DONE with the hike but Amy and Adam loved exploring a new section.  We had a hard time keeping up with Addie, she was a hiking machine on Saturday!

LOOK!  Adam found a Superman rock.  We thought it might be the same one that we found a few years back but we think there are lots of heart and diamond shaped rocks at Labrador :)

We found the below rock at Labrador on June 3, 2017 :)

We had to get a new cedar swing as the one Adam surprised Amy with in 2009 broke when Adam sat on it this spring.  Adam insisted that we stain the new swing!

Gorgeous sunset!

New furniture for the pool deck!  Yes, Amy has a blanket, jacket, and hood while the crazy kids are just in shirts.  The furniture will be moved to the pool deck on Monday.

A Week of Summer in May

With the warm weather last week, our days consisted of school, swim, eat, sleep, and repeat.  The gardens seemed to "jump" overnight due to the warm weather.  We are sending tons of good thoughts to our family and friends!  Love to ALL!!

Addie successfully swam to bottom of the pool to retrieve the "eel" toys.

Ayson cleaning the bugs out of the pool.  Thanks, Ayson!

Look!  A Baltimore Oriole at our feeder!!

After eating dinner outside, Addie wanted to play the card game that she made up last year: how to tame a cat :)

Gorgeous iris in our garden around the pool

First lupine of the year!

Sunday was a perfect day for weeding!  Even pushing the wheel barrow was not hard in the cooler temps :)

Sending Lots of Love to All

A^4 are sad this week as Pama passed away Friday night.  We are sending SO much love to Grandpa Chuck, Pama's family, and all our family and friends.  Pama was loved by so many.

Monday
After participating in the Fishing Derby last weekend, Ayson really wanted to go fishing again.  SO, we all went fishing after dinner :)

Ayson didn't want to put a worm on his hook so he pleaded with Adam to put the worm on. Adam to the rescue   :)

Merry Go Round time!

Crazy kids went swimming (briefly) on Saturday.  The cold water chased them out of the pool.

We ate dinner on the back porch and watched a plow with horses work a field on the other side of the valley.

Both kiddos watching birds on Sunday morning!

Ayson and a mermaid!!!  Ayson claimed the water was warmer :)

Happy Mother's Day

A pretty "low key, average, no excitement" week and we like it that way.  All is well with A^4 and we wish the same for our family and friends.  We are sending good thoughts to everyone!

We also wish all of the Mother's a Happy Mother's Day!

On Tuesday, Addie wanted to practice shooting hoops before it rained.

Thursday: Ayson and a new robot that he created

The kiddos playing tag

Addie still likes to play on the tire swing

On Saturday, the boys went to the fishing derby (Amy caught Addie's cold and we did not feel like going fishing in the cold temps).  Ayson caught FOUR fish and he came in third place for the 5th/6th grade category.

He won a new tackle box and a lure!  He is ready to go fishing next week!!!

Happy Mother's Day!  The kids and Adam made crepes: with bananas, strawberries, and Nutella - yum!

Well Hello, May!

All is well with A^4 and we are sending good thoughts to our family and friends!  Hard to believe that it is MAY but we are trying to enjoy as much time outside as we can.

Park time on Monday afternoon.  Both kids were bouncing their SUPER bouncy balls on the pavement and running down the hill.

Silly Thunder, making himself comfortable in the smallest cardboard box while he was 1 foot away from the "luxury" cat condo with cozy cubbies.

Our crab apple tree looks amazing this spring!

Addie's spelling words in a word search that Amy completed.

Shadow playing with the origami bird that Ayson created.

Addie playing with the horses and farm set :)

Saturday morning gorgeousness

On Saturday morning, we went for a walk in the orchard to look for morels.

The kids had fun playing in the puddles, playing with cat tail swords, and chopping heads off of dandelions with sticks.

Addie spreading cat tail fluff.

Saturday afternoon we tested out Addie's new bike at the path in Tully.  Of course we stopped for ice cream after our bike ride :)

Listen closely - there were SO many bees in the crab apple tree blossoms that the tree was alive with buzzing/humming!
