Happy Birthday to Grandma Collene and a Visit with Grandma Pat and Grandpa Roger

How is it the middle of August already?!  Happy Birthday to Grandma Collene on Wednesday!!!!  Our tomatoes, green beans, cucumber, corn, peppers, zucchini and squash are going strong in the garden.  Grandma Pat and Grandpa Roger arrived on Saturday to spend a week with us so of course we took them to Labrador Unique Area :)  We hope all of our family and friends are enjoying the warm weather with family and friends and are happy and healthy!!!

Sunnies from the garden!

Look, the sun!

Ayson happy that the cats were coming to him!!  Yes, Ayson is holding cat treats :)

Quick, LOOK!  The kiddos are playing nicely next to each other :)

Grandma Pat and Grandpa Roger arrived on Saturday for a visit with us!

On Sunday, we took Grandma and Grandpa to Tinker Falls and the board walk at Labrador Unique Area.

Candy Land!

The Game of Life! The kids LOVE this game but it takes forever to play!  Good thing the grandparents are retired...hahaha.

Happy August

A week bookended with birthday cake for Amy and Addie, a birthday party with friends, and TWO kayak excursions in one week!  Ayson purchased another fish for the tank (and our massive goldfish has not eaten it...yet) and two snails.  It has been cute to see Ayson sitting and watching the fish tank looking for signs of the new fish, Tiger (a loach: bottom feeding fish).  Ayson wanted the loach so that Ayson would not have to clean the fish tank as often...hahaha.  We hope that our family and friends are doing well and enjoying summer!!!

Amy's birthday was on Monday and she decided to have her cake at lunch time - why wait?!  Happy BIRTH day to Grandma Pat :)

Blowing out the 46 Big Ones :)

The kiddos cleaned the fish tank on Monday and Blackie (the goldfish) and Shadow (the cat) loved it.

Amy went on an early morning kayak with a friend on Tuesday to Labrador Unique Area.

Gorgeous morning!

Very cool fog on the water.  The air temp was 56 degrees when we started...yikes!

Adam got Ayson a new shirt :)  Ayson LOVES ketchup and fries and he wanted a picture in his shirt.

Addie took this pic of the cats sitting pretty and requested that it get posted to the blog.

On Thursday, Amy went to Fillmore Glen State Park for work and there was a bat hanging out in the rafters of the pavilion!

Makes perfect sense to follow a picture of a bat with a picture of lounging cats :)

On Friday evening, Addie lost another tooth!  Yay!  She so wanted this tooth out before attending Leena's birthday party on Saturday!

Leena's mom, Ashley, is an awesome school teacher and she had the kiddos busy with painting rocks, outdoor games, a scavenger hunt, a water gun fight, and a piñata.  Everyone had a great afternoon.

Listening to the scavenger hunt rules.

Hahaha, Leena has the right idea of putting her bag right under the candy pouring out of the piñata.

Amy got her "birthday outing gift" on Sunday morning: an early morning kayak with the family on Tully Lake.

Ayson enjoyed paddling on his own but near the end, he kept trying to connect his kayak to Amy or Adam's...hahaha.  No such luck, Big Guy.

Adam instructing Addie on how to get out of the lily pads

A gorgeous and still morning and the temps were MUCH warmer

On Sunday afternoon, Adam discovered a little snake in our front-side yard so we all went out to watch it. The snake climbed up our mulberry tree and curled up in a depression in the crotch of the tree. Too cool! Addie named the snake "Pine."

Goodbye July!!

Good bye July and hello August!!!  It felt like a quick week with Adam and Ayson milking cows on Monday, Amy having an evening meeting on Tuesday and a site visit in the valley on Wednesday, Amy and Adam celebrating their 15 year anniversary on Thursday, and a weekend visit with Grandma Collene!  We hope that our family and friends are enjoying summer and making time to relax :)

Ripe chokeberries in our valley.

Pool acrobatics with Adam!

Tada!!

Thunder getting a closer look at Addie's sandwich

Ayson decided he wanted to make cookies on Thursday afternoon and he only needed help understanding a few steps!  Thanks for the yummy cookies, Ayson!!

Working on the "Tinker" kit that he received from a friend for his birthday party.

A gorgeous purple coneflower taken on July 29, Amy and Adam's Anniversary :)  We celebrated by letting someone else cook for us (take out from Sweet Basil), taking a walk in the garden, and enjoying a nice bottle of bubbly.

On Friday, we drove to Brantling NY to attend the Brantling Bluegrass Festival with Grandma Collene.  Thanks, Grandma!!

The kids were thrilled...hahaha.  They did actually pay attention and Ayson commented on Saturday that he had recognized a song from Friday night.  A little girl came up to Addie and asked if Addie wanted to play.  Addie looked at me and then said yes!  They went around asking to pet dogs and ran around the park.

On Saturday, we hung out at Grandma's while Adam helped with a few chores.
Spirograph and coloring!

Uncle Shawn built closets for Grandma's sewing room and Adam helped install the doors.

Saturday evening had us back at the Bluegrass Festival with Grandma Collene, Auntie Jen, Uncle Jay, and Grandpa Chuck.  It was an exciting weekend for Grandma Collene as she won the 50-50 drawings on Friday AND Saturday nights!  Way to go, Grandma!!
