Happy Birthday Addie!!

Happy Birthday Addie!  We played outside every chance we got and we celebrated Addie's 10th birthday on Tuesday.  Happy Spring to our family and friends!!

Monday evening shenanigans in the diminishing snow:)  Adam is holding snowballs...

Ayson is Adam's target...

HAhahaha!

Happy 10th Birthday, Addie!!!  You are loved by so many :)   Hard to believe that the week Addie was born had temps in the 80s!!!

Addie was VERY happy to be out of the single digits:)

Opening her birthday cards - this is the first year that Addie waited to open her cards.  In years past, she would open her gifts on Ayson's birthday :)

Ayson's card included an artistic drawing of Thunder.

Addie did not want a candle on her cake - she did not want to ruin the hard chocolate coating on her peanut butter ice cream cake.

Adam showing the kiddos a drawing that he started in high school.

Evening fun at the park.

Girl Scouts was held at Stafford Park since the weather was gorgeous.  Addie and her sidewalk chalk creation.

A Friday walk in the orchard - we wanted to check on the status of the spring peepers - no peepers on Friday but we had fun walk.

Ayson kicking a deer skull (named Carlos) back to the house - until Amy suggested carrying the skull home with a stick.  Even after being outside all winter, the skull still reeked.

TaDa!!!

Saturday was absolutely gorgeous!!  Addie picked our hiking location: "the Cracks" aka Clarks Reservation State Park.

The moss was SO green and the air humid from the subliming snow.

Gorgeous morning with spring in the air.

Posing with the HUGE grape vine.

A huge shelter that we discovered along the Rim Trail.

Addie wanted a picture on the playground otter :)

Happy Birthday, Ayson!!!!

Happy Birthday Ayson!  How is it possible that our Baby BOY is twelve years old!!!   We celebrated with a family birthday during the week and Ayson will have a friend party in early summer.  We received about 8 inches of snow between Saturday and Sunday but the kids did not play in it as they were recovering from colds.  We hope that everyone is doing well and enjoying SPRING!

Ayson ran in to the house Monday evening and requested Amy's camera so that he could take pictures of the sky :)

Sage using her large feeding bowl.  Amy caught a picture of Sage's tongue barely sticking out :)

We celebrated Ayson's birthday on Tuesday with lots of singing of Happy Birthday from the Grandparents and family.  Ayson is TWELVE years old - eeek!  We love you, Ayson!
Baby Ayson

Addie made Ayson a card with a picture Shadow and Blackie on the front.

Ayson's facial expressions are hilarious.

Ayson wanted ca$h for his birthday but he also asked to be "surprised" with a small gift.  Adam found an "Inventors tool kit" so now Ayson is all set with any tool he needs to take a part and build electronic devices.

Shadow SO badly wanted to catch the birds on Saturday!

Ugh, Ayson came down with a sore throat and cold on Thursday evening and Addie on Friday evening so we has a low key weekend.  Amy and Adam did go for a walk in the orchard - one last walk in snow and to see/listen to the spring birds.

The temp was in the 20s and Amy was not messing around and wore her ski goggles and face mask -  no cold skin for Amy!!!

Poor Ayson - haha.  Sigh.  We have all felt like this and done this.

Adam started his kitchen remodel on Sunday by taking down the cabinets between the kitchen and dining room.  The cabinets blocked his view of the rest of the house while the kids and Amy had no problem seeing (because we are not as tall as Adam :)

The kiddos opening their cards from our family friend, Kathy. Thanks, Kathy!!!
Somehow Amy managed to catch both kids with their eyes closed or partly closed - the kids LOVE the stickers that Kathy puts on the cards - the kids cut the stickers off of the envelope :)

Happy Birthday Shadow and Thunder!!

The week started off with cat birthdays on March 1st and ended with weekend outings.  We hope that our family and friends are doing well and getting outside to play!

Shadow's tail (top cat) was swinging so furiously (from watching the birds) that he kept hitting the toy that was hanging in front of Thunder (bottom cat).

Amy had recycled Addie's "tree" and Ayson pulled the art work out of the recycle bin so that Addie could keep it -hahaha....sigh.

The kids enjoying their Highlights magazine hidden object search - very addicting :)

March 1 was Shadow and Thunder's birthday and Amy and Addie went to the store to buy them a birthday gift: a catnip filled "kick toy."
The cats investigating their new toy.

Addie and her annual pose with Thunder :)

Everyday, Thunder sits next to Addie on her bed while Addie completes her reading homework.

Shadow will sit near Ayson BUT Shadow does not like to be held.

Bird wing prints in the snow.

A walk in the orchard on a mild Saturday afternoon.

Of course we walked to the creek!

Ayson balancing a snow ball on his hat.

Boy cuddles

On Sunday, we went to Red Robin for lunch (thanks, Grandma Collene for the gift card!).  While drinking his Oreo shake, Ayson declared: "BEST day EVER!!!"

Playing trivia games after our meal - they crushed the questions!

After lunch we did a little galivanting at Target and then went ice skating - the rink is open until the end of March so we need to get our skating in before it closes for the year!!!  Crazy that we went skating on Sunday considering the outside temps reached 75!!!
