It's Finally Cold but No Snow

We are sending good thoughts to all of our family and friends!  If you love snow, we hope you have enough to play in!!!  Ayson is very disappointed in our lack of snow.

We woke up to snow Wednesday morning!  BUT not enough to delay or cancel school - hahaha.

Ayson made a snowball while waiting for the bus.

Goofy kiddos

Addie squeezed herself into a small box!

We now have counter tops!!

Ice skating lessons on Saturday - Addie continues to make progress :)

Ayson was disappointed that we did not get any snow on Saturday.  However, lack of snow did not stop him from rolling his snowball (from earlier in the week) down the hill at the "little" park.

The kids took ice from the pool cover and attempted to build a little ice fort - but they needed snow to act as the edge binder!

On Saturday afternoon, we went to Ms Annie and Mr Bob's house so that Amy could set up the baby crib for the newest grandbaby, Everly, that will be visiting Annie and Bob over the Christmas holidays.

Addie wanted to climb the ladder to see the holiday scene that Annie had set up.

So pretty!

Meanwhile, the kiddos decorated the little tree (annual tradition!).

Animal Cuddles and Fun with Family and Friends

A VERY short week for the kiddos with no school on Tuesday (Superintendent's Day) and Veterans Day.  Thank you to the service men and woman - we would not have a constitutional republic with representative democracy without them!

We found a stray kitten in our garage Monday night and Amy called our neighbor Denise, who volunteers with Wayward Paws, and Denise came over on Tuesday morning to take the kitten for adoption check in (including shots and neutering).

The kiddos getting cuddles Tuesday morning (they had the day off from school) before Denise arrived at 9 am.

Addie sat out in the garage with "Lefti" for a good hour :)

Amy tried to get a picture of milkweed seeds floating off the pod in the wind :)

An early evening family walk on Thursday

Ayson being goofy

THEN Ayson started to pester Adam...don't do it, Ayson!!!

It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt...

Luckily, no one ended up on the ground or pouting...just more goofiness :)

Addie working on a chocolate house that she received from Girl Scouts

After Addie's ice skating lesson on Saturday morning, we went to our friend's house to cuddle chickens and make snow globe crafts!  The chickens are so soft!!!

The Guinea hens!  The chickens hang out with the Guinea hens and follow them everywhere!

Kate showed Addie a new way to hold the chickens:)

Snow globe time!

Break time for more cuddling

After the snow globes, Ayson used the very cool glass containers that Kate had to show us all how to make mini terraria!  Charcoal, dirt, moss, a little water, and close the tiny system with a stopper!

Getting the crushed up charcoal (from the firepit) into the tiny container

Tamping down the dirt with the head of a pin:)

Adding moss!

Ayson helped Amelia with her terrarium :)   Thank you Ayson for your patience in helping Amelia!!!  On Sunday, Kate texted to state that Amelia now wants to become a "scientist" like Ayson - hahaha yay!  Learning that totally made Ayson's day :)

Our finished projects: snow globes and terraria!

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!!  The kids had a good night of trick or treating and visiting with friends.  We hope our family and friends are happy and healthy!

The elementary school parade was outside this year!

Mrs Anthony came to our house this year to give the kiddos candy AND so we could see their new puppy, Boone, in his adorable bee costume.

It wasn't until later that Amy noticed that both cats are in the window WATCHING Boone :)  Thunder is near Addie's hip.  Amy is in the picture too!

A visit to Ms Annie and Mr Bob's house for candy and a picture!

We went to Tully so the kiddos could go door to door trick or treating:)

A VERY cool display right near main street.

A snake candy shoot!

Addie's pumpkin - the same design as last year.

Ayson' vomiting pumpkin :)

Amy and Addie have been reading a book together that Auntie Holly gave to us when Ayson was starting 5th grade, "The Girl Who Drank The Moon," by Kelly Barnhill.  We both loved the book and it was fun to talk about the book and what scenes we liked best - the paper birds and Glerk were Amy's favorite while Addie loved Luna :)

The weather has been crazily dry and warm so there has been plenty of milkweed seed spreading!

Addie had her first ice skating lesson on Saturday morning and she did GREAT!  She already has more confidence in her skating then last March at the end of the ice skating season.

With temps in the 70s, Amy and Addie went to the "Big Park" for the afternoon.

Wakon was able to come to the park too and the girls had fun!

On Sunday, we all had appointments to get flu shots and all but Addie received a COVID booster.  Addie will need a child dose for her COVID booster.

Outside fun until the rain arrived

It was cool to watch the rain roll in AND to see the kiddos run (bottom of the photo).
