Spring Break 2023

Spring break!!!  The kids were so excited to visit Grandma and Grandpa Roe in Alabama!  We had a great time together and had amazing weather!

Shadow wanted to come too!

After we arrived in Orange Beach, we went straight to the water!
Half eaten fish.

Then it was off to the beach!

Then the kiddos wanted to swim in the pool :)
Mermaid Addie

Ayson trying to lift Adam :)

Pool fun!

Ayson is too big to throw but he still had fun!

TaDa!!

A picture with Grandpa

Addie found a new friend:)

While Ayson explored the water.

Ayson wanted to play Monopoly with Grandpa :)

More beach time

Ayson stated that he did not want to swim in pools much this vacation so on Wednesday we went to a roller coaster Ayson and Adam) and in door water park (Amy and Addie).
Picture in the big chairs.

The kids on a crazy ride!

Ayson has his hands in the air.

We went for a boat ride with Maryann on Thursday - we had a great time!

We stopped at an island to explore and see the great blue herons

We saw three dolphins and one was a baby!

Goofing around

Captain Ayson

While on our boat ride, we stopped for dinner :)
Ayson ate SO many bacon cheese burgers while on our vacation

Captain Addie.  Thanks, Mary Ann!!

Mary Ann directed Addie to drive to our condo so that we could see it from the water

On Friday, we went to Fort Morgan.  The kids had been to the Fort previously but now that they play Minecraft and build their own forts, they both got more out of our visit.

The fort!

Ayson walking through the entrance

Addie walking by the arches.

The steep steep steps!

The many arches

The boys are at the far end of the picture.

A quick stop at Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge

Mexican for lunch.  LOOK at the amount of food in front of Ayson!

Addie with her fried cheesecake

The day is not complete without a stop at the beach!!!!

The kiddos could not go in the water on Friday due to Portuguese man o' war.  A small one that Amy brought back to the family

A large one that Amy saw on the beach - eek!

Ayson request to be buried and Adam sprayed Ayson with sand in the process.

Gorgeous!

The kids found a deep hole and they requested to be buried together

Two heads in the sand

The kids had trouble getting out!

We had ice cream for dinner two nights and the kids found a massive jelly candy in the shape of a shark.  They each paid $20 for the sugary candy.

On Saturday, it rained but that was ok as we planned to go bowling (for Ayson's family event).
Addie got a strike!

Ayson got a few spares

The bowling alley also had an arcade - best. day. ever!!

We visited Uncle Al and Aunt Shirley Saturday afternoon.

Swimming friend...

Thanks, Aunt Shirley for taking the great picture!

Hello April!!

The kids were counting down the days until spring break - yay!  We hope that our family and friends are having and enjoying gorgeous spring weather!!!

Ayson getting in a bit of baseball practice before the season starts in mid-April.

Adam played Minecraft with the kiddos - they each had their own screen :)

On Sunday, we visited our friends Sam and Ben - kids of Amy's colleague, Scott.  Sam and Ben went to Ms Linda's for day care before they started school.
We got to see the MANY critters that the three boys have: geckos

Piebald ball python

Tarantula - the boys have at least 10!  ALL critters are houses in a building separate from the main house:)

The kiddos: Ayson (13), Sam (12), Addie (11), and Ben (10 but turning 11 very soon :)

We delivered Girl Scout cookies to Ms Annie and Mr Bob and had a yummy lunch with them - thank you!
Addie trying out the new cheese cutter that Mr Bob made :)

The kiddos goofing around while the adults chatted.

Amy found pictures of the 4 kids from 2015

and 2016 :)

Too cute!!

Gorgeous Week Outside

What a gorgeous week outside!!  We hope that our family and friends are doing well and enjoying plenty of time outside in the sunshine!!!

Handstand practice.

Kids being kids.

Ayson wanted to learn how to make his own Ruben sandwich:)

Yum!

Addie and Sage!

Amy was at the library on Tuesday for a Ladies craft night (titled: Stich and 8itch :)  and Amy made sure to snap a picture of Ayson's photo on display!

Amy's friend Kate made the cute bear for Amy on while at craft night AND when Amy got home, she found out that Ayson also made felted wool crafts at school in art class:  a hog (complete with tusks) and a turtle - too cute!

The weather continued to be gorgeous on Wednesday so we went to Kate's house for a short visit and to pet the chickens.

Our crazy cool box elder tree would make a great scene for a scary book!

Friday night fun with friends - peach schnapps with whipped cream :)

Addie playing with Bohdi

On Saturday, Addie's Girl Scout troop went on a field trip to an ice cream/yogurt shop.

While Addie was at her event, Amy, Adam, and Ayson got Ayson ready for his next sport: baseball.  Ayson will start baseball practice in mid April.  After the field trip, we went to Red Robin for lunch - yum!

Sigh...rolling down a clean driveway is better than rolling in grass (that might have ticks) SO Amy did not stop Addie from having fun.

While the adults planned gardens, the kids played outside (Addie) and inside (the boys and Emelia)

Sunday afternoon was the LAST time the ice rink would be open for this season so we made certain to get to the rink early so that we could be the first ones on the rink!

The boys practicing at the park.
