Quick Week and Garden Harvests

Amy could not remember what happened during the week - as it was a short week with Monday as a holiday, a quick trip to Buffalo for work on Tuesday, a football game on Wednesday for Ayson, and a low key weekend getting chores done around the yard, and Adam made pulled pork for Addie on Sunday!  We hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy!!!

Ayson's game was located about 5 minutes from Amy's office (too bad Amy was at a meeting in LaFayette during his game!)

We harvested our carrots and cleaned up sections of the garden on Saturday.
Check out all of our carrots!!

Ayson cut down some of the dead plants around the house and then really wanted to continue "wacking away" so he started cutting the weeds in between the sun flowers.

While we were outside working, neighbor girls came over and asked Addie if she wanted to play at the park building a big leaf pile to play in.

On Sunday, Emelia came over for a little bit and we had fun coloring, making a paper airplane, playing Taco, Cat, Goat, Cheese, Pizza, and playing with Addie's Hatchimal sets :)

Ayson's school picture (the digital download version) arrived on Sunday!!!  Great smile, Big Guy!

Amy has WAY too many flower/garden pics but tries to put them at the end in case people don't want to scroll by them :)

Our saffron crocus harvest this fall!!!

This is a zinnia just starting to flowers - reminds Amy of a lamprey mouth.

Goodbye Shadow and Apple Fest

We have sad news to share.  Ayson's cat, Shadow, died unexpectedly on Monday afternoon.  We think he misjudged the amount of space he had to right himself (after a too short jump in the air) and he hit a chair, breaking his neck before he fell to the ground.  We are in disbelief that Shadow is gone and Adam and Amy feel terrible for Ayson, Addie, and Shadow's brother, Thunder.  We hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy.

Shadow is buried not too far from Mason.

Addie placed the stone kitty (from Ms Annie and Mr Bob), so that the Kitty could watch over Shadow and Mason.

Ayson had a football game in a town 1 hour away and Ayson's team won!  Great job, Ayson!

We started to frost the fall sugar cookies that we made on Sunday.

Yum!

On Friday, we took the rest of the cookies to Kate's house so the kiddos could have fun frosting the cookies.

A friend of Addie's gave Addie 2 painted stones to put at Shadow's grave.

Addie and Elise with cotton candy pink tongues headed back down the Apple Fest in the rain.

The girls had fun riding on the carnival rides - even in the rain.

Ayson worked at the festival in the football booth and then he hung out with his friends.  At one point, Ayson and 2 of his friends came back to the house to warm up and so Ayson could change into dry clothes.  This is the only picture Amy was able to get of Ayson from Apple Fest.

Saturday evening, there were fireworks and we could see them from our windows!!!

Gorgeous Fall Weather

A quick school week for the kiddos and then we had a low key weekend of getting things done around the house.  We hope everyone is enjoying fall!

Ayson had been working on an online Hunter Safety Course and he finally finished on Saturday!!!  He is looking forward to hunting with Adam!

On Saturday, Amy and Addie went to Kate and Emilia's house to pet ALL the pets:)
Bunnies!

This chicken kept coming up on the front porch (we did not know she had made a nest on the front porch - with 2 eggs so far!)

Here she is coming back on the porch

Addie cuddling the chickens

Ms Kate had Addie check for eggs in the coup - she collected 6 eggs!!  Bodhi's rear end is in front of the egg basket - he wanted to see the eggs too!

Addie wanted to make fall/Halloween cookies so we made pumpkin cookies and sugar cookies using the following cut outs: cat (of course), bat, and pumpkin.

Awesome cookies!!!

Meanwhile, the boys were making grilled chicken and peanut butter chicken - yum!!!

More "flowers" photos!

One patch of zinnias had HUGE flowers!

Amazing color gradient on this zinnia

A bee flew on to this flower while Amy was trying to capture the purple/pink ring around the center

and ended up with a great close up of the bee!!!

Hello Fall!!!
