Holiday Fun

A week filled with activities for the kiddos - school and friend related.   We hope our family and friends and are doing well enjoying time with family and friends!

Amy has wanted to make cranberry and orange garland for awhile and THIS year we did it!.  Prepping the oranges for drying.

Drying the oranges made the house smell amazing!

Our friends came over on Monday evening to help string the garland :)

And a wreath

After the kiddos had each made one strand of garland, they were ready to play games - Headbands!

Addie's Holiday Concert was Wednesday evening - Addie playing her flute (in a white vest) is standing below the purple star.

On Friday morning, 8th grade parents and friends were invited to listen to the Harlem Renaissance presentations the student's prepared.  Ayson going through his presentation with Mrs Oliver,

Ayson attended a Friday night birthday party - the boys did not go to sleep until 5 am on SATURDAY morning.  Needless to say, Ayson was not a ball of fire on Saturday.  In fact, he went to sleep at 3:30 pm on Saturday and did not wake up until 8:30 am on Sunday morning!

Happy Birthday to Adam!

Happy Birthday to Adam!  Addie was sick Thursday and Friday so she missed the school play on Friday night (she was part of the back stage crew).  For Adam's birthday, we went out to dinner with Annie and Bob on Saturday and they surprised Adam with amazing gifts that Bob made. Thank you!  We picked out our Christmas tree and decorated it on Sunday while Adam worked on the laundry room.  We hope our family and friends are happy and healthy!

Adam received chocolates for his birthday!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to our family and friends!  We are sending good thoughts to everyone.

Ayson (and Adam) received an early Christmas gift - a new hunting rifle.  Ayson practiced with the gun.  Great shot, Big Guy!

Ayson all suited up to sit in the cold and wait for deer. They did see deer but the boys were not able to get a good shot - so no venison during Thanksgiving break.

Grandma showing the kiddos how to tear up the bread to make the stuffing/dressing on Wednesday evening.

Happy Thanksgiving to Everyone!

Friday was Kaela's 16th birthday!  Happy birthday Kaela!  While the adults visited upstairs, the kiddos hung out in the basement :)

Broccoli Soup and Animals

A busy week with Adam away at a meeting, a trip to Buffalo and two evening meetings for Amy, and musical practice (Addie is part of the stage crew) for Addie.  Addie ended up not going to school on Friday (sick) and had a low key weekend while the boys went hunting.  We hope everyone is doing well and enjoying time with family and friends!!

Ayson made broccoli cheese soup (Amy helped prep the veggies).

Very tasty!  Thanks, Ayson!

Addie was given "dinosaur eggs" by a classmate.  The classmate had noticed Addie carrying around a little dinosaur the day before and decided to give her the dinosaur eggs that he no longer wanted. :)

A brachiosaurus!

Ayson "packing" his clothes in his blanket.  The boys spent the weekend hunting at Grandma Collene's.

Ayson is ready to go!  The boys had fun and Ayson was able to spend time with cousin Curran.

Amazing moon Saturday night!

Addie had lined up the animals she sleeps with on Amy and Adam's bed so that she could change the sheets on her bed :)

THREE Day School Week!

The kiddos had a 4 day weekend with a Teacher/Administers day on Thursday and Veterans Day on Friday.  They spent most of the 2 days being slugs.  No pictures during the week but we had a vet appointment for Thunder, a visit with friends Friday night, Addie and Amy went grocery shopping and ice skating on Saturday, and we baked/cooked on Sunday.  We hope everyone is doing well and we are sending good thoughts to family, friends, and all Veterans!!!

Addie (Ayson too) is "sick" of the school lunches.  She wants to start bringing her own lunches so we had to pick up items for her to pack.  She also wanted to make an Italian pasta salad...she picked out the recipe and Amy walked her through making it.  Addie loved it - yay!

Thunder hoping for a slice of pepperoni:)

Addie also helped with making the chocolate chip banana bread - as you can see in the picture, banana bread does not last long at our house!

Addie decided to NOT wear her dinosaur costume during the school parade outside BUT this is what she would have looked like...
