Another quick week with Daddy traveling Sunday through Wednesday. We still managed to have fun...working on Ayson's school project and doing lots of reading and snuggling in Ayson's bed. We were ALL happy to have Daddy home on Thursday morning!!! We spent the weekend at Grandma Collene's so that Daddy and Uncle Jay could cut wood for Grandma. It was cold but the kids had fun playing outside and helping Daddy.

Ayson completed his 100th Day of School project! 100 cotton balls to make a "long neck dinosaur" and a baby dinosaur. Ayson then drew a volcano, trees, a bird, and grass. Great job, Big Guy!
On Friday night we headed to Grandma's house so that Daddy, Uncle Jay, and friends could cut wood for Grandma for NEXT winter!

It was a Harry Potter marathon weekend on TV and Ayson fell in love with Harry Potter! PERFECT show for a kid who loves magic, dragons, and castles!

After the boys finished for the day, Grandma made a big batch of lentil soup...yum! Then Jen, Sally, and Tori stopped over for a quick visit!

Another great week with much to be thankful for! Everyone in our family is currently healthy and happy:) The kids had a snow day on Tuesday so they got to play inside ALL day and then we went outside to build more snow people once Mommy was done with work. We played outside on Saturday, went for a short walk on Sunday, and did lots of coloring, playing with toys, and working on Ayson's homework.

As soon as Mommy was done with work, we went outside to play in the perfect snow person making snow!!! Addie pushing her huge snowball downhill (Mommy thought ahead and had Addie start the snowball at the higher portion of our yard (near the house :)

On Saturday, we went to Highland Forest (an Onondaga County park just like Pratts Falls) just past our tried and true Labrador Unique Area for a walk and sledding. After the walk, we visited the lodge and the kiddos had fries. Highland is catered by Orchard Vali golf course in LaFayette and Orchard Vali is the place Mommy and Daddy got married in 2006! While the kids were eating the fries, Mommy noticed Melanie from Orchard Vali talking with another future bride and groom about menus and such. Mommy stopped over to tell the group how wonderful the people at Orchard Vali were...especially since during our wedding there were severe summer thunder storms, it was HOT, and the whole area had a brown out (of electricity). Mommy explained that the folks working at Orchard Vali made it so that Mommy did not stress about the restriction of power and that the bride and groom to be would be in good hands :)
What a view! Mommy wonders how far we could see if the sky was blue! We will keep everyone posted! We went to the sledding hill right around 12:30 and everyone else was up a the lodge eating lunch so we had the hill to ourselves! This was a good thing since this outing was the kid's first experience of sledding on a huge hill.

After Addie went down the hill with Daddy that first time, she was quick to get back up the hill so as to be able to sled down again!!!
We let Ayson go down by himself (from the top) but we made Addie start from the middle of the hill, when she wanted to go by herself. Ayson is currently sporting a nice patch of "road rash" from one a multiple face plants.
Daddy stood near the bottom of the hill to help direct Addie as she flew down the hill.
She loved it!
Ayson did a fantastic job! Turn the volume up while watching the video as you can hear Daddy giving instructions, Ayson whimpering, and then laughter from both Daddy and Ayson :)
And then back at our house, in what we call "little Florida," we have no snow...the snow person does NOT count :(
Sunday:
Kids "Who says you can't have ice cream with breakfast?!? Homemade waffles (thanks, Daddy!) with ice cream, maple syrup, and fruit!

A walk in the orchard...no snow but the kids did find ice. Mommy felt bad for this picture...making the kids face into the sun and smile. Thinking about squinting into the sun made Mommy laugh because Grandma Pat would take pictures with the poor people (Mommy, Daddy, Aunty Holly) squinting into the sun and Mommy would throw a FIT/complain about having to force a smile while the sun was hurting her eyes...People, we are taking about as recent as 3 years ago...hahaha:)
Mommy told the kiddos no TV/electronics on Sunday and Ayson did a ton of complaining. Never mind all of the fabulous toys that he has. Addie did not complain once (for a change). After pouting after lunch, Ayson finally got out his Chain Reaction leggo set that provides a few new key components and then uses the Legos that every kid has "stashed in a bin in the corner of the room somewhere (or under the bed) and "teaches your old Legos to do new tricks"

Ayson's class continues to work on being a "bucket filler" (being nice to others) and not a "bucket dipper" (being mean to others). Mommy LOVES this and thinks we could all work a little harder on this!

This kids have been reading a version of the book "The Mitten"...we have at least 2 copies of this book (one form Sasha and Tee!) and the kids love to read it.
