Birthdays with the Family

Daddy and Addie recovered from their colds (from last weekend) but then Mommy and Ayson got sick this week.  To round out the week, Addie ended up with a double ear infection :(  BUT we ended the week on a high note by going to Grandma Collene's for the weekend so that Daddy could help split wood and so we could celebrate the kiddo's birthday's.  A^4 has nothing to complain about and for THAT, we are thankful!

Monday
Ayson must have a hollow leg with all of the food he is eating!  He he is certainly outgrowing his jackets and pants :)

While Addie is subsisting on "crackers and air"...she ate half of this dinner Monday and finally finished it on Tuesday night!

Playing Super Why Monday night.  Ayson can now read the cards to us!

Tuesday
LOOK at all of the food!!!  Ayson even made the grilled cheese sandwiches :) Ayson did admit that his eyes were bigger than his stomach as he was not able to finish both grilled cheese sandwiches Tuesday night :)

A little singing and picking :)

A whiteout from Daddy's office window Thursday!

Mommy and Ayson stayed home on Thursday.
Thursday night the kiddos made cards for Mr Linda (childcare provider) and you can tell from the picture that Ayson is not his "peppy" self :(

Addie with her card to Ms Linda.

Daddy attended Open House Thursday evening and was able to see more of the great work that Addie and Ayson have been completing.  Both teachers had many positive words for the kiddos.

Addie

Ayson

This one might take a bit more deciphering:
"If I had 100 eyes, I would scare every girl  They would scream so loud."

Addie

Great picture of Mason, Addie!!

We went to visit Grandma Collene for the weekend.  The kids decided to open their Birthday gifts Friday night :)
Happy Birthday!

Lego time!

Painting one of the cars...

Hot Tubbn' it after a long COLD day of wood splitting (for Daddy:)

Auntie Fran had dinner with us Saturday night and the kiddos received their Christmas gifts from Auntie!  Thank you so much, Fran!!!

Then on Sunday, we celebrated the kiddos birthdays with Grandpa Chuck, Pama, Auntie Julie, Uncle Dan, and the cousins, Kaela and Curran.

Ayson LOVES money and as of this post, he now has $72 saved up!  (he wants a video game player...we will probably help him get a Wii)

Auntie Julie "Vanna Whiting" the ponies that Addie received from the Caulfield clan :)

Happy (early) Birthday kiddos!

Hot fudge brownie sundaes...yum!

Spring Break!

Spring Break for the kiddos!  It sure felt like spring with temps in the 50s and climbing all the way to 73 degrees on Friday!  The kids went to The MOST on Wednesday with the after school program and we had visitors on Friday night.  What a great week off with warm weather and time with friends...much to be thankful for!  Saturday was pretty low key with both Addie and Daddy coming down with colds AND a cold front moved in with rain that kept us indoors most of the weekend.

Daddy is showing Ayson how to cook!  So far Daddy has shown Ayson how to make eggs and on Sunday he showed Ayson how to make grilled cheese, with supervision, of course :)  Addie thinks Ayson is a great cook!  :)

Daddy showing Ayson how to scramble eggs on Tuesday evening.

On Wednesday, the kiddos went to The MOST with the After School Program.  Ayson was in Ms Annie's group and Ms Annie shared pictures with Mommy :)  Thanks, Ms Annie!

Checking out a few of Leonardo's inventions!

Great smile, Ayson!!

Meanwhile, Daddy and his colleague were at a career fair on Wednesday :)

Seems like we just took the trampoline netting down but since the weather was SO nice this week and the kiddos did not have school, we decided to put it back up so that the kids could play.  Watch, we get buried with snow and won't get back on the trampoline until May...hahaha.

On Friday night, we had two visitors!  Ms Annie and Gianna came over to visit and to eat S'mores!

Snow Days and a Blue Sky Weekend!

A short and fun filled week for the kiddos!  School was also canceled on Monday, they celebrated Valentine's Day on Tuesday, Wednesday was the 100th Day of School party, and Friday was a half day!

Daddy stayed home on Monday so that Mommy could go to work :)

Happy Valentine's Day!!
The kiddos with their musical Valentine's cards :)

Ayson received a real Valentine card from a girl in his class, Teagan.  If you remember, Ayson stood up for Teagan earlier this school year (Teagan had written Ayson a thank you card "for standing up for me").  Too cute!

Addie's art work:

Shaving cream snow

Spring flowers!

Thursday:
Ayson controlling his robot arm to shake Daddy's finger.

Then Ayson moved on to placing an object into the barbie doll car.

Friday:
Addie wanted to send Ms Linda a picture and tell Ms Linda that she missed her and loved her :)

On Saturday, Grandpa Chuck came over for a visit and we sat out on the back porch watching the kids play as the temps were in the 50s!

Crazy boys!  Daddy told Ayson that he would give Ayson $5 IF Ayson ran all the way around the yard and house... barefoot and he had to run in snow.  Of course Ayson did it.  He did take a small break on the wooden swing and the front porch :)

Victory!

Addie showing off her static hairdo.

Saturday morning Daddy and Mommy took turns cross country skiing around the orchard.  By that afternoon, we lost most of our snow!

First chiminea and outdoor smores for 2017!

After setting three marshmallows on fire, Ayson finally roasted a perfectly golden marshmallow.! Great job, Big Guy!

Addie is OUT!

Grandpa helped Daddy stack wood on Sunday. Thanks, Grandpa!
Then the kiddos got out the metal detector and wanted to look for treasure!

We went to Labrador Unique Area on Sunday afternoon in search of snow!  Labrador did not disappoint!!

Ayson pushing Addie's buttons by standing in front of her.  Addie got really upset and would not smile for a family photo...so Daddy put her down:)

The sky was a pretty blue with no clouds and temps in the 50s!

Mommy liked the defined line of the mountain and contrasting colors of snow and blue sky.

A^4 had Monday off for Presidents' Day, so after breakfast we headed to Highland Forest for a walk and sledding. Highland is only ~15 miles east of Labrador but by Monday, the remaining snow had turned to ice...so no sledding.

Pretty view from a foot bridge.

At one point while Mommy was waiting for Addie (she was crawling along an icy section), Mommy looked up in the trees and noticed an owl watching them!  When Mommy first spotted the owl, all she saw was a head looking upside down at her and Addie. Picture the owl sitting on the branch and looking the opposite direction (of Mommy and Addie).  The owl then bent forward and down so that its head was under the branch and looking in our direction.

A close up of the barred owl.  Awesome!
