A Visit with Grandma Pat and Grandpa Roger

Grandma Pat and Grandpa Roger visited for the week while Adam was away at a meeting in Maryland.  We had a great time together and enjoyed our visit.  We hope that everyone is enjoying the last weeks of summer!!  (the kids are NOT looking forward to getting up early again when school starts).

Crazy Ayson

Hahaha

Too funny

Amy walked in to the kids listening to Christmas holiday music on August 22 :)

Monday and Tuesday were rainy days - so the kids and Grandparents played the game of Life.

Backyard outing on Wednesday PLUS they made cookies!!!

The kiddos took Grandma and Grandpa to the creek in the orchard

On Thursday, Ayson was Grandpa's golf caddy :)

And the girls checked out a new hiking area: Pleasant Valley Preserve

Adam arrived home Thursday evening and on Friday he got to work on the kitchen.

Floor issues - oh dear.

The boys went to Syracuse for lunch and to Home Depot while the girls went to Tully for lunch and then a hike.

Labrador Pond pic.  Amy encourages Addie to wear sunglasses BUT Addie refuses.

After our hike, we checked out a new garden that was designed and built by a student in the high school for their senior project.

A walking path and perennial native flowing plants

Plus benches

A mason bee house!

AND a fairy house :)  The door even opens - Addie checked :)

On Saturday, Amy, Grandma, and the kids explored a new area - Carpenter Falls Unique area along the east side of Skaneateles Lake.

There were a total of 170 steps to get to the bottom viewing area:)

Very cool!

Saying goodbye to Grandma and Grandpa - thank you for visiting with us!!!

Ayson's Pool Party and Waterpark Fun

A warm week with lots of pool time, Ayson's sleep over pool party with friends, and indoor waterpark fun on Sunday.  We hope that everyone is happy and healthy and enjoying summer!!!!

Addie's horses enjoying some fresh air.

Mrs Oliver's completed her LAST week of day care for kiddos in LaFayette.  She is now officially retired (for the 2nd time) and has many trips planned for the fall.  Amy gave "Nature and Environment" presentations to Mrs Oliver's kiddos - with the help of activities from Cornell Lab of Ornithology including explaining the structure of bird and butterfly wings, learning about insect eyes and then taking the kids on a "Tiny Hike" and making music with animal sounds.  Thank you, Mrs Oliver for your dedication to the children!!!

ALL of these tomatoes came from one plant - a branch broke because it could not hold the weight of the fruit!

On Friday, Ayson had three friends over for a birthday pool party/sleepover.

The boys alternated from jumping on the trampoline (with the sprinkler on) and jumping in the pool.

Ayson and his buds.

Meanwhile, Addie and Thunder relaxed in her room.

Breakfast of pancakes, eggs, bacon, and sausage!!!

Followed by more fun outside.

Adam covered in drywall compound dust - he is almost done with compound and sanding!!!

On Sunday, we went to Cascades indoor waterpark for a birthday party.  Good thing the party was indoors as it rained and thundered most of the day!

Ayson coming out of the orange tube.

And the tube flipped :)

But he was all smiles.

In addition to the waterpark, the kids had fun frittering away $$ at the arcade :)

Ayson loved playing the basketball game.  Too bad his game did not keep track of his score!
