Happy August!

August is here!  So far this summer, the days (and nights) have been extremely warm.  We know that fall is coming though, because the sun is going behind the mountain earlier every day.  There are lots of birthdays this month: Mommy's on the 2nd, Grandma Collene's on the 11th, Grandma Pat's on the 28th, and Grandpa Chuck's on the 30th!  Happy Day, as Ayson would say!
Playing out in the yard on Wednesday:
Ayson pulling his toy that scares Mommy and Daddy. THIS toy is known to go off in the middle of the night-making it hard for Mommy and Daddy to get back to sleep!

Addie sitting on the swing with Mommy.

Daddy throwing Ayson up into the air.   Ayson kept laughing and saying "Again!"

Mommy's birthday was on Thursday and Daddy made her a homemade carrot cake with cream cheese frosting...yum! Ayson had to have a candle in his cake too so as not to feel left out:)

On Saturday morning, Daddy and Ayson left the house by 6:30am so that they could get in and out of the barber shop without having to wait. They were Barber Sam's first 2 customers of the morning and were back home by 8:30.  Nice hair, Ayson!

Addie enjoying time outside.

Ayson is starting to peddle his own tryke!  Just before this picture was taken, Ayson crashed and tipped the tryke over because Daddy let go thinking Ayson could peddle AND steer at the same time.  As you can see from this photo, Ayson did not suffer too much :)

This past weekend was really hot so Ayson spent lots of time in his pool.  Somehow, Daddy managed to spray himself right in the butt.  Serves him right for constantly threatening to spray Ayson and Mommy and Addie!

Ayson: "Take a picture of ME...CHEESE!"

Luckily for us, the extremely warm temps were also accompanied by a nice breeze.  In this picture, I think the wind took Addie's breath away.

Kisses from Daddy.

Addie loves to watch her BIG brother and will twist and squirm on the blanket so that she can watch him.

Addie up close...she is our little drool factory!

Daddy was busy on Saturday with his smoker. On Saturday we dined on ribs, corn, and yellow wax beans (from the garden) and on Sunday we had pulled pork...yum!

Eating ice cream Saturday night.

On Sunday morning, we piled in the car and drove to Labrador Hollow Unique Area for a short walk.

We then walked on the boardwalk near Labrador Pond.  Labrador is a little slice of the Adirondacks smack dab in the middle of central NY!

The wind produced some nice wave action that in turn produced some nice thick foam along the waters edge.  It took both of us to keep Ayson out of the "soap" :)

Walking back to the car.

Daddy lounging with Addie on Sunday afternoon.

We have yet to see Addie put her toes in her mouth but check out the below photos...it won't be long!

Addie"  "Mom!  I have toes!  I wonder how they taste?!"

  1. Oh, Grandma Pat can't wait till November when she visits next. All these wonderful pics make her homesick for seeing her Roe/Ryan family. Thank you for the great photos and the accompanying comments, so enjoyable!
