Happy Memorial Day!

A^4 had a good week and a great weekend with family and friends.  We hope all of our family and friends did too.

Princess Addie wearing her tiara from Grandma Pat and Grandpa Roger.

Doc Ayson and Princess Addie conducting an  exam on a "sick" Daddy.

Daddy reading the kids a new book: Trout, trout, trout (a chanting story about fish...there is also a chanting book on insects and birds :)

A little bit of coloring and stamp fun before school/day care.  Notice the stamp on Addie's arm...it did not dry and Mommy ended up wearing the stamp on HER arm (after she rubbed arms with Addie)

Planting flowers later that afternoon.

Chicken wings on Friday night.  The boys inhaled the chicken wings to the point that they had to order another 2 orders of wings Saturday night!

Helping Daddy put a new belt on the lawn mower Saturday morning.

Saturday started off cool (Friday too) but no complaints from A^4!  We had wonderful weather all weekend.

The kiddos painting their bird houses (from Christmas)

On Saturday evening, A^4 went for a walk in the orchard.
Mommy and the kiddos blowing dandelion seeds.

We all had our pants tucked into our boots in an effort to avoid ticks.  The ticks are bad this year in our area...

THEN it was S'more time!

On Sunday, we went to the "Big" park and did a bit of fishing.  Ayson held a worm and Addie SCREAMED after holding a worm for about 4 seconds:)  It was a big juice worm too :)

Addie and Ayson did a great job of casting and reeling!

THEN, Addie was fed up with fishing so after she threw her fishing pole on the ground, we went to the playground so she could go down the slide and play in the sand (Mommy did make Addie pick up her pole and carry it to our gear before we went to the playground).

Ayson and Daddy fished the entire time and...

Ayson caught TWO fish!  He was so excited!

That afternoon, Grandpa Chuck came over!

Grandpa playing "Bear" with the kiddos (they were in the puppy tent) and Grandpa had to shake the tent and make growling noises.

Cuddles with Grandpa (Ayson does not sit still long enough for a cuddle these days).

Pool time!

Grandma Collene and Ruby also came out for a visit!

Ayson and Ruby

Gianna even came over for a bit of pool fun.

After a yummy dinner of ribs, baked beans, fried cabbage and rice, and corn, Grandma did a bit of bouncing with the kiddos.  Ruby got so excited (that Grandma was bouncing) that she cheered Grandma on the entire time).  Grandma, Ruby, Mommy, and the kids then went for a walk in the orchard.
Sunday was Neighbor Dave's (Mr. Anthony to the kids) 53rd birthday and Gianna brought us over a huge slab of chocolate birthday cake with homemade whipped cream frosting.  Thanks, Jo, Dave, and Gianna!!!
Once it started to get dark, the boys (Neighbor Dave included) lit off some fireworks (bottle rockets and 20 year old fire crackers that Daddy discovered a few years back.  Both Bandit (the Anthony's dog) and Ruby did NOT like the noise!

Mommy and Ayson went to the Memorial Day parade on Monday.  Addie did not get to go because she did not eat her breakfast in time.  We did get Addie a new American flag, a pin wheel, and a few pieces of candy.

Once Mommy and Ayson got back form the parade, A^4 took Daddy's boat to Little York Lake. Luckily, the boat started (Daddy did not get the boat out once last year)!  Now that the kids are older, we are hoping we will get out on the boat more!

Fishing!

We all had a great time even though no fish were caught.  We did see lots of minnows, a massive dead carp, and a few bass (not in season).

Ayson did a great job of casting and he did not hook himself once over the weekend :)  Both kids were wiped out Monday evening (Mommy and Daddy too :)
