We had a warm weather week filled with swimming every day and a cooler weekend filled with galivanting for the girls and work for the boys. We hope our family and friends our doing well and enjoying June! The kiddos are VERY excited to almost be DONE with school for the summer!
We got the cornhole boards out for the summer!
Addie's Girl Scout troop had a Loved One Luau and Addie and Adam had fun eating, coloring, and doing the limbo.
Our friend Kate has 3 hens that have been brooding (but not laying the eggs). Kate had been putting eggs from other hens under the 3 brooding hens to see if they would be good mommas to the eggs. On Friday Addie and Amy helped the process along! Friday night when the 3 hens were sleeping, we helped place day old chicks under the brooding hens and then next morning - tada the eggs had "hatched"! All three hens are being good mommas and plucked their chest feathers (to create more body heat contact with the chicks) and are keeping the chicks warm and safe.
We searched for (and found) smooth rocks with holes through them - like a small hole was drilled. Amy thinks there may have been a small section of softer material that got eroded away.
Addie and Amy attended a Girl Scout outing to Haven at Skanda in Cazenovia- a friend of ours volunteers at Skanda :)
Addie and Ella checking out the 500-800 lb pigs
It rained Sunday afternoon and Ayson was quick to turn on his weather radio while it thundered outside!
Our roses look incredible this year!
