Lincoln Pond Vacation: Thursday through Saturday. We spent Thursday close to the house and on Friday, the 4th of July, we went to Fort Ticonderoga. We drove home Saturday morning and were home by 1:30. We hope our family and friends are doing well and had a wonderful 4th of July with family and friends!
Thursday:
A walk behind the house to find the creek.
Lacy's Creek!
Gorgeous rocks and moss.
And ferns!
Another red spotted newt sighting during the walk.
Pond time for the puppies.
They look so small when soaking wet.
Cheese!!
Ayson was sad because it was taking SO long to roast the marshmallow on the small fire that HE made.
Trying to tempt the fish with worms.
Johnny Jet sleeping while leaning against his crate.
Hahaha...his lip is hanging over the wire.
We spent the 4th of July at Ticonderoga Fort
The walled flower garden.
Ayson liked the split rail fence.
A marching procession complete with fife and drums.
Another entrance into the walled garden.
View of Lake Champlain from the fort.
Reenactment of hearing a proclamation
Adam and Ayson "signed up" for the colonial militia - using a goose quill and a pot of ink.
Intricately carved powder horn.
Lunch with a view and a "toddler Addie smile"
Cannon firing demo (blanks were fired - it was loud~!)
Outside view of the fort
Fishing net (and boat building) demonstrations.
So far, she has one layer of netting on the rope - the net needs to be 12 feet wide!
Brownie ice cream sundaes for dinner!
Last night of trying to catch a fish. We saw fish but none were interested in being caught in Addie's net.
