We played at a park at least once every day and most days we went twice!
Project Park is located close to Grandma and Grandpa's and had the biggest selection of playground equipment so we went and played there the most.
We went for a walk with Grandma on the path that Grandma walked all winter (snowshoes).

We then checked out the playground at Chi Mukwa, which is Ojibwe for “Big Bear”. It is the fitness center of the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians.

On Tuesday, A^4 visited Kathy and she showed the kids her fish and gave the kids each a gift. Thanks, Kathy!
On Wednesday, we went to breakfast at Frank's with Grandma, Grandpa, and GREAT Grandma Roe.
Addie was not too certain about Great Grandma...even when Mommy explained that Great Grandma was Mommy's Grandma (Addie kept looking at Grandma Pat :)

On Thursday, we went to Aunt Shirley and Uncle Al's house for a visit.

Then it was off for a quick (and buggy) visit to the cabin and then to Clyde's drive in for dinner! Mommy and Daddy have to go there at least once during a summer visit to the Soo...bacon cheese burgers, onion rings, and chocolate malts...yum!

THEN, it was off to the Valley Camp (the name of a freighter) playground just down the road from Chi Mukwa. This play ground was in the shape of a freighter...of course.

This was a tower built to look like the Tower of History in the Soo (at least that is what it looked like to Mommy). Mommy did have a hard time getting Ayson down...Daddy was fishing for whitefish with Doug Easterday (our France trip friend) in a little bay in Lake Superior and could not help Mommy get Ayson down.
The slide was pretty steep and Addie did not want to go down until she watched another little girl slide down.

During Addie's nap on Friday, Mommy and Daddy went kayaking on the lower St. Mary's River near Aunt Shirley and Uncle Al's house. Thanks for allowing us to use your kayaks, Shirley and Al, we had a great time!!!! ALSO, thanks to Grandma Pat for watching Ayson while Mommy and Daddy had a "date."
After Addie's nap, we took the kids to the Soo Locks so that we could watch a ship go through the locks on the St. Mary's River. We got lucky and saw THREE boats during our visit!
We then had dinner with Great Grandma Roe.
We tried to feed left over bread to the "sea gulls" but the crazy birds did not show up!! Grandpa told us that they eventually came to eat the bread but usually the birds arrive within 1-2 minutes of the bread being tossed on the grass.
Friday was the Sault Relay for Life and Mommy, Daddy, Ayson, and Addie joined Auntie Shirley and Uncle Al for the Survivor walk from 7-8 pm. We walked for Grandpa Ric (and Grandma Collene), Uncle Al (and Aunt Shirley), Pama (Grandpa Chuck's fiance), Daddy's grad school advisor, Steve Klaine, and all of our family and friends we know that have been touched by cancer. Daddy even had his t-shirt from the Mid-Lakes Relay for Life we participated in for Grandpa Ric so he made sure to wear it for the event!
Ayson and Daddy played cornhole and Mommy was able to get photos of both boys with the cornbags in the air! Nice job, Mommy :) Ayson got to pick out a toy for him and Addie...purple snakes that were a big hit on the ride home to NY!

Saturday morning we said goodbye to Grandma and Grandpa and then piled in the car and headed south to Auntie Holly and Uncle Alek's house (our half way point). Thanks for a wonderful visit, Grandma and Grandpa!!
Once we arrived at Holly and Alek's, the kids made a bee line for the trampoline and the playground. We then went swimming at the commmunity pool where cousin Dane jumped off the high diving board...what a BIG boy!! But, Mommy did not get any pics from the pool (no where to put the camera :)
We had a great Saturday afternoon and evening with Auntie Holly and the cousins (Uncle Alek was on National Guard duty and working). Thanks Aunt Holly and cousins!
We were on our way home Sunday morning by 8 am and after stopping in Skaneateles to pick up a few groceries (because we knew the fridge was empty) we made it home by 4:30! YAY! We had a very fun and safe trip to and from (and in :) Michigan and the kids did very well on the drive. A big THANK YOU to the Anthony's for allowing us to borrow their portable DVD player. A^4 WILL be investing in a player for our next road trip :)
