What Day Is It?!

A^4 started off the week on a high (a snow day) and then we swiftly went down hill from there and Mommy finally made it in to work on Friday.
Mommy has morbidly wonder over the past 2 years when we would deal with kid vomit and how the events would play out. Mommy remembers being a little girl and going into her parents room and telling Grandma Pat that she did not feel good. Grandma told Mommy "go tell your Father"...well, Mommy walked around to the other side of the bed and ended up puking all over the carpet on Grandpa's side of the floor :)

Well, now Mommy can cross THAT particular curiosity off the list! Ayson came down with a stomach bug Monday night and proceeded to throw up all over our bedroom floor (because Ayson came into our room to tell us he did not feel good). He then puked in his bed and after 1 sheet change, Daddy instructed Ayson on the art of puking into a garbage can...we still ended up changing his sheets one more time. Then on Wednesday night, Addie, Mommy, and Daddy (who was traveling for work) also came down with the stomach bug.  Addie puked in her bed a total of 4 times and Mommy ran out of clean sheets and fleece jammies. Addie had a harder time grasping the concept of puking into a garbage can. Of the 4 of us, Mommy had the mildest case and Daddy and Ayson were tied for the worst...ugh! Mommy is happy to report that A^4 is now feeling MUCH better and we all will be going to work/school/day care on Monday...sigh.

On Monday, work was closed for Mommy and school was closed for Ayson, due to snow! Mommy and the kids had a blast at home.  We painted, played board games, watched cartoons, read stories, played outside, and played hide and seek...to name a few activities.

Ayson did a great job on his picture and did not stop until he had everything painted. We have been telling Ayson he needs to finish the projects that he starts and usually he does a pretty good job unless he really dislikes a particular task...then we have to remind him.

The princess dress made multiple appearances on Monday.

Eating snow

Ayson is upset in this photo because he got snow all over his forehead

During hide and seek, Mommy learned a few things:  Ayson still fits in the barn, Addie will tell you where she is hiding when you walk into a room and ask "is anyone hiding in here?" and Mommy had a perfect hiding spot under the piano bench...too bad the bench legs could not still touch the floor with Mommy hiding under it :)

Since Mommy stayed home with Ayson, she kept Addie home too.  Good thing too!  Hopefully Sam and Ben do not come down with the stomach bug since Addie was not around all week at Linda's.

Chalk time.

Daddy stayed home with the kiddos on Friday. Ayson went to school on Friday but Mommy got a call that he was still not feeling well so Ayson spent the day with Daddy and Addie.

Both Daddy and Addie are very persistent in their requests to get their backs rubbed and scratched. So Mommy thought it was very fitting that Daddy had to submit to Addie's repeated requests on Friday night. If Daddy would even stop for 10 seconds, Addie would turn around and tell him to "scratch my back under, Daddy" (like her Daddy, Addie also likes the treatment to occur under the shirt and not on top)

On Saturday morning, Daddy and Ayson built a little motor from another invention kit that Daddy had picked up at Hobby Lobby.

Ayson was so exctied to get the motor working!

We then all piled into Mommy's car so that we could go to Daddy's office and pick up his car. Daddy's boss had dropped Daddy off at the house on Thursday because Daddy was too sick to drive up to the office and then drive back home. The kiddos got a tour of Daddy's office and his messy desk...Daddy does not like this type of clutter at home...piles of messy papers and such.

Lego time!

More drawing time!  Side note, Mommy kept Addie's hair in a pony tail most of the week so that the puke would stay out of Addie's hair...

You will probably need to click on the picture and zoom in to see Ayson's snow man complete with face (and carrot nose), hat, and arms. He even drew a sun and wrote his name!
