Family Fun, Frozen Pipes, and Fun at Chucky Cheese!

The weather was BRRR cold this past week so the only fresh air we got was walking to and from cars and buildings!   BUT, we do live in Central New York and we are not complaining.  JUST making observations!
Ayson's school was on a week long break but they still had a daycare program.  On Tuesday, Ayson and the other kids got to take a bus ride to a nearby mall and watch the Sponge Bob movie!  How exciting for Ayson (and Mommy and Daddy did not have to sit through it!  Mommy's friend, Lucy, stated she fell asleep during the movie and that it was painful to watch!!!)

Daddy helping Ayson practice his sight words (easy sentences with words he knows)

Addie LOVES to dance to a "rare" Dave Mathews Band song titled "How Many Nails"...over and over and over again.  The song has a great drum beat and bass so we do a lot of dancing in our house:)

Great hug and smiles!

Our weekend was supposed to be low key with the only plans being to attend Sam's 4th birthday party (both Sam and Ben go to the same daycare as Addie...Ayson too before he went to school). However, Daddy and Ayson discovered late on Friday afternoon that our water pipes for our heating system had frozen and burst...ugh!  Luckily we heat mainly with wood but during the work week, the furnace/hot water heat system keeps our house from dipping below 55ish.  It was COLD Friday night as we were not home all day to get the house temp up with the wood stove!!!  Daddy fixed a section of pipe (that luckily was underneath the stairs that lead to the basement...so behind a door and not seen by folks (so the water damage was not horrid). Daddy also filled in a section of the exterior wall that did not appear to have any insulation in it...and this was right next to the frozen water pipe...double ugh! Good thing Daddy was able to fix the heating system because he is headed off to Seattle on Monday morning and it is supposed to be brr cold again this coming week.

The kids had fun on Saturday with boxes...wipes are a wonderful thing...even for almost 5 year olds :) The kids have to be quick with the boxes because Daddy is notorious for breaking down cardboard boxes quickly and putting them in the recycle bin :)

On Sunday morning, Ayson helped decorate Sam's birthday card.

The big mouse, Chucky Cheese.

Cake time!

Mommy's colleague Scott (Sam and Ben's Daddy) told Mommy that Sam requested a scorpion on his cake...lol!  The cake decorator did not know how to draw a scorpion so Scott looked up a picture of a scorpion on his phone to show the decorator.  The decorator did a pretty good job and Sam ate the piece of cake with the frosting picture of the scorpion.

Most of the games were too big for Addie and Ben (both born in 2012) but the two of them must have rode the 3 person merry go round for at least 10 minutes straight!  Addie loved the unicorn :)

Ben and Addie on a "Clifford" look a like.
