GO Clemson and Fun without Snow

A^4 had a great week that started out with Clemson winning the National Championship football game, we had an adventure Wednesday morning due to a power outage (getting ready for school/work) by candle, kindle, cell phone, and flashlight, and exploring outside over the long Martin Luther King Jr holiday weekend.

GO CLEMSON!!!  Daddy all set for the BIG game!


Daddy stayed up until 1 am to watch the end of the game and the game highlights.  Below is a bury image of the winning Clemson touchdown :)


Tuesday night included high winds and sleet which led to a power outage and one hour delay Wednesday morning for the kiddos.  Luckily, the moon was close to full and helped not make it so dark when the power went out...Mommy woke up around 1:30 am Addie screaming and being scared of the dark.  Due to the sleet, the kids had a one hour school delay which helped with the slower then normal morning routine.
The kids had fun walking on the crusty snow Wednesday morning :)


On Saturday, A^4 went back to Clarks Reservation State Park so that Addie could see the "cracks in the earth" (karst topography).
First off, Daddy showed Addie the current lake (the old plunge pool from a glacial waterfall)


Of course we had to check out the playground equipment before we started our hike.

We then walked to a small waterfall that had frozen.

On Sunday, we explored a new place: LaFayette Nature Trail and Ropes Course...along Butternut Creek.

After a 20 min walk (with the kids it took 20 minutes...probably only a 5-10 minute walk without kids ;), we made it to an amazing ropes course!
