Hello June!

We hope everyone had a great start to "summer" this past week:) We finished off May scorching hot and June arrived with perfect temps for playing outside and not frying :)  The kids bounced in the trampoline with the sprinkler both Tuesday and Wednesday after dinner.  Saturday was the LaFayette Community Days and the kiddos had a blast: A bike rodeo/roundup and safety inspection, a rubber duck race, fire hose races, flag retirement ceremony, free food and snacks, live music, fireworks, and lots of friends:)

Mommy was looking at stream bank projects along the Genesee River on Tuesday.  Farming/tilling right up to the stream bank has resulted in a loss of 15 acres over a ten year period for this farmer.  We would like to build a forested buffer to stop even more of the land from eroding into the river.

LaFayette Community Days!!!
The first thing the kids wanted to check out when we arrived at the Park for Community Days - the merry-go-round and NOT the cool fire truck or wind sock character.

On Sunday, Mommy and Ayson spent the afternoon together while Addie attended a Birthday Party for Mrs Oliver's granddaughter, Kennedy.

While the plaster was drying Mommy and Ayson went to the big park and Ayson played while Mommy walked on the paths.


Meanwhile, Addie was having fun at Kennedy's party!  Mikhan, Addie, Rae Rae, and Kennedy (she closed her eyes on purpose - per Addie ;)  Mrs Oliver said that Addie was wonderful and at one point Mrs Oliver said that Addie was like one of her own children (Addie loves to give hugs to friends and family)- to which Addie replied very matter-of-factly, "I'm not the same color."  Mommy asked Addie if she loves Mrs Oliver and Addie said yes - so Mrs Oliver IS a member of our family:)  Mommy made noted to talk more about blended/adopted families with the kiddos (we had a good laugh:)


Too much fun, apparently!
