We left our phones back at the hotel for the water park. However, the kids stated that the indoor pool at the hotel was the highlight of the trip to Old Forge....sigh.

Checking out the hotel dock and fish

They probably spent 10 hours in the hotel pool over 2 1/2 days!

Addie was practicing in the shallow end

While Ayson was fearless!

On Monday, we went to Calypsos Cove, the arcade adjacent to Water Safari. Both kids won lots of plastic toys/junk (treasures)!

Addie did not want to do any of the activities:
Rock climbing - great job, Ayson!!!

He almost made it to the top - but he was too tired (this was his 2nd attempt). Granted, it was crazy warm and the heat sucked the energy out of all of us.

Ayson loved the zip line!

Not pictured is the bumper boats: Ayson against Adam and Mommy. Ayson soaked us good! The parent boat was too heavy (and slow) with both adults in it and Ayson's water gun had a closer range - but the water felt good (as long as it did not get into your mouth)!
During dinner, Adam requested that Ayson hold up this bottle of hot sauce so that Mommy could get a picture of the label :)

View from our hotel room

Monday night rain and a rainbow!

Before we left for home on Tuesday, Addie requested we revisit the playground at Old Forge

A cool boat!

On Wednesday, we went kayaking on Tully Lake - Ayson has his own kayak now (Adam's old kayak)

Ayson holding a freshwater mussel

Mommy towed Ayson when he got too tired from paddling :)

We spent many many hours at neighbor Gianna's pool during our days off!!!
Action shots of the kiddos jumping in!

An evening walk along the board walk at Labrador Unique Area: checking out the blueberries

We are getting excited!!

Family picture

We told the kiddos no swimming as we still wanted to make smores and watch Neighbor Dave light off fireworks :) The kids still managed to get pretty wet.

Sunset from the parking lot

Our drive home

Sparklers!!!

On Thursday morning, we went to Taughannock Falls State Park and we were the only vehicle in the parking lot that is next to Cayuga Lake!!

Cayuga Lake

We have not had a ton of rain so Taughannock Creek was much lower than last July!

Looking for salamanders and crayfish

One of two swimming holes

Addie's cairn

AND Ayson's cairn...

After our walk up the creek and a view of the waterfall, we headed back to the Cayuga Creek side of the park for a picnic lunch!

Treasures collected from the lake

It was a good trip!

Grandma came over for a sleepover on Thursday afternoon and we took her to one of our favorite places: Labrador Unique area!!

Relaxing before bedtime

Ayson put on a pair of Mommy's boots to run out to the truck and Adam thought Ayson looked hilarious!

Addie fell asleep before we even got to the park!

We went to Green Lakes State Park in Fayetteville (just east of Syracuse) on Friday

Green Lake is a glacial lake that does not turn over in the spring and fall and the waters are so pretty! We are standing on a marl reef - a reef created by cyanobacteria

After our hike around the lake, the kiddos played at the playground and then it was time to SWIM!!!

Adam sitting on the C-21 beach blanket :)

The kiddos stalking a ring-billed gull (seagull)

Alas, Ayson did not catch the bird :)

We ended Friday night with Smores and star gazing (Addie was inside in the boys room -she was too tired to sit outside with us - hahaha!)

On Saturday morning we picked black raspberries in the orchard and Adam and Ayson made jelly!!
Ayson mashing the berries

Notice the splatter on Ayson's chest - a little too zealous in his mashing :)

Ah, kayaking at Labrador Pond!

An amazing night with no wind

Ayson allowed Adam to shave off his hair for the summer

In addition to Ayson's new "do" notice that the raspberry stains are still on his chest - this is after a long swim in the pool AND a shower!!!

Ayson came in the house asking for a magnifying glass - so Adam helped him start a fire :)

Both kiddos worked on their summer school work - Addie reading to Mommy:)
