Rainy Week and Weekend Outdoor Fun

A week of rain and the loss of electronics for both kids (due to poor behavior/attitude --they also had to sweep floors) resulted in evenings of family fun and double rainbows.  Instead of rushing for the kindles (for their allotted amount of time each day), the kiddos would pull out crafts and games that they "forgot" about.

Pipe cleaner bunny ears

Addie wanted a second picture showing how she "looks like a bunny"

Feeding frenzy!!!!  Can you tell that it is humid?!?!?!

Headbandz!!!  We LOVE playing this game and always get a good laugh :)

Good cards for each of us.  Ayson's first card was "money" and he is always trying to earn and save his money for the next new electronic item that he wants to buy.
One of Adam's friends/colleagues used to call him a "barking dog" because Adam would talk non stop (sort of like Ayson now but not Adam as he says the kids have "sucked the talk/life out him")

Addie LOVES to pretend to be a cat

Adam cooks with LOTS of onions and we love fresh salsa with onions!!!

We then moved on to completing the wooden cars that Grandma Collene gave to Ayson.

Mommy sometimes sticks her tongue out when she is concentrating (especially when she was little!)

Painting and gluing

We went to our neighbors house for dinner - they live in the old church (across from us and the park) and we had amazing food, met great people, and even listened to music!   A music teacher from Oswego State University made a music instrument out of three tire rims, magnets, and a computer.  Ayson thought it was AWESOME!

Spin art!

Making phone (our old phones that only work with internet - so basically apps) and kindle holders

On Friday, Mommy and the kiddos had a low key evening of pizza and swimming!  Daddy went with Aunt Julie, Uncle Jay, Aunt Jen, and Grandma Collene to a Bluegrass festival.

Addie has made fantastic progress with her swimming - considering she has not had swimming lessons yet (this goal for this winter!)

Addie has perfected the belly flop

Friday marked the end of the week-long rain but we still had some amazing clouds!

Ayson holding the inner tube steady while Addie jumped into it (or so Mommy thought - Ayson told Mommy he was trying to take it away --when Mommy thanked Ayson for helping Addie...sigh)

Can you see the 2nd rainbow above/to the right of the "bright" rainbow?

Eggs!  Mrs Oliver brought over a dozen eggs from her chickens on Friday so that Adam could make her a quiche!

On Saturday, we attended MJ's (Mathew's) birthday party.  MJ is in Addie's grade and MJ's older brother, LJ (Little John), is 1 grade above Ayson.  All four kids go to the summer program together.  Everyone had a fabulous time at the pool party!

Skyler, Ayson, Jacob, Conner, MJ, Addie, and Guy.  (Not pictured, LJ and Logan)  Addie was the only girl but she held her own!

Dinner!

And cake

Ayson  playing while Addie is getting ready to JUMP off the diving board!

Ta Da!!!

Is Addie walking on water or is Mommy just fast with the camera ;)

Let's not forget the slide!!!

Oh, and the trampoline: MJ, Skyler, and Addie

The "big" boys, LJ, Ayson, and Logan playing with Nerf guns in the gravel piles.

Addie was OUT before we even got home!

It was a sleep over party but Addie was NOT interested.  Ayson was SUPER excited to sleep over!!!
Top row: LJ, Conner, and Ayson. Bottom row: Logan, MJ, and Skyler.
MJ and LJ's Dad, John, slept downstairs with the boys while Mom, Jen, slept upstairs in her own bed (sounds like Mommy ;)

The boys were up late and up early :)

While back at home, Adam was wondering how Ayson was doing:)  We were up early weeding the garden and making quiche (that part was Adam)

Addie and Adam delivering the quiche to Mrs Oliver :)

Sunday was Mommy and Adam's 12th wedding anniversary!  For "Our" day, we told Addie we wanted to go kayaking.  Addie said we should look for the sunglasses that Mommy lost - so we went back to Labrador pond! No luck on finding the glasses but we had a great time on the water!

Addie got to ride in her OWN kayak for the first time!  Mommy towed her the entire time :)

LOOK at the blueberries we found from the water side of Labrador!

On Sunday afternoon, after we picked up Ayson (and after a bit more swimming for all kiddos), we went for a walk to the creek.
Our gardens!

There is a NEW bridge where a culvert used to be!

Ayson's method of catching fish (minnows): place a jar into the creek and let it sit

then quickly pick the jar up and

tada!  a FISH!!!  Look close to see the fish :)

The new bridge!  Time will tell if the bridge will handle a big rain event!
