Memorial Day and the Start of Summer Days

A^4 had a great week filled with activities on Memorial Day, during the week, and over the weekend.  It was crazy hot all week and we hope that everyone managed to stay cool!  We are sending good thoughts to our family and friends.

Memorial Day excursion to Dwyer Park and Little York Lake.  The kiddos had to test out the bouncing horses.

Scoping out the crayfish

High on the "To Do" list was fishing!  Addie did not like it but she would put the worm on her hook.

Just about every time that Ayson threw a cast, he caught a FISH!

Too bad Ayson did not want to touch the fish or put a worm on his hook :)

The fish had a grand time nibbling the worms off the hooks.

Addie's fish!

And she tried to take it off the hook!

Tada!  Ayson wanted a picture with his smallest fish.

After fishing, we went kayaking AND Addie has her OWN kayak as Amy got a new one!

After Addie got tired, Adam connected Addie's boat to Amy's boat and Addie relaxed for the rest of the paddle.

Addie taking a break

Ayson loved being able to explore in his own kayak and he did not need to be towed at all during the paddle :)

Crayfish!

Yum!

Great finish to a perfect outing: smores!

Addie wanted to make a Sun Art picture on Tuesday

Completed picture after the sun activated paper was rinsed and dried.

Adam was able to find Ayson a bigger bike so now we ALL have bikes that fit and make it easier to ride up hill :)

A gorgeous view of Chittenango Falls from a State Park in Cazenovia that Amy visited for work on Wednesday.

Addie learning how to pump water at Ms Annie's house.

On Thursday, Ayson had a Drs appointment and afterwards the boys went to Hobby Lobby.  Ayson bought 2 plant kits for  himself, a plant kit for Addie, AND candy for both.  Thanks, Ayson!

The kiddos preparing their cacti gardens - the kit started with a disk of dirt that expanded in to "premium growth medium" with teeny tiny seeds to plant.

Addie was very excited to start her kit.

Our poppies have bloomed!!

Addie was supposed to be sweeping and Amy found her playing instead :)

On Saturday afternoon, we went to Stafford Park for "Community Days."  The kids and Amy entered a duck into the race.  The kids decorated their ducks.

Eagerly watching as the first duck makes its way downstream.

LOOK at all the ducks!!

Both kiddos found friends at the Park a had fun eating ice cream, chips, and playing.  Ayson spent over an hour playing Gaga Ball.  Addie's friend, McKenzie, wore a shirt that coordinated with Addie's pants.

Amy has been consistently watering and fertilizing the roses and THIS year we have so many blooms!

Gorgeous!

Adam dug 16 additional holes in our side yard for another project: wine grapes  :)
Ayson helped remove the loose dirt from the holes and was pretending to be a gopher in the below picture.

Calico Critters are SO cute and so are all the little accessories!

We spent the remainder of our free time in the pool
The finished pergola!
