Birthday Weekend with Grandma Collene

Mommy and the kiddos held down the fort while Daddy was away for work this past week.
Addie came down with a fever Monday evening so Mommy and Addie stayed home on Tuesday (...AFTER Mommy and Addie drove to Mommy's work Tuesday morning so that Mommy could get her computer as she had a bit of work that needed to get done.)  Addie had the same thing Ayson had the previous weekend and the fever only lasted 24 hours.

Daddy came home late Wednesday night and the kids were SO happy to have Daddy home!
Why?!?  Mommy is not as fun and does not get on the floor and let the kids play on her like Daddy does.  On Thursday night, Daddy was a pin/sword cushion :)

Friday night S'mores!

We then all piled on to the trampoline and tried to catch the tail end of the Perseid meteor shower. Mommy and Addie then went inside while the boys dozed for a bit outside.

The kids helping Daddy with his crunches Saturday morning. Daddy is running in a Spartan race over Labor Day weekend with friends/colleagues of Mommy and Daddy. In addition to Cross Fit, Daddy has been running in prep for the 3 plus mile portion of the run/obstacle course type race.  We will all go to the race and cheer Daddy on!

Ayson working on Grandma Collene's Birthday card (Grandma's birthday was on Aug 11).

We then packed up our things and drove to Grandma's for the weekend.  We stopped at a park that Daddy used to play at as a kiddo.

Daddy remembers playing on a couple of the old school playground equipment pieces: the metal spring animals and the super tall metal slide (the kind of slide that burns the backs of your legs, from the sun beating on the metal, when you slide down in the summer while wearing shorts or a dress...Mommy has LASTING memories from the playground slide from her elementary school:)

We then went kayaking on the Canandaigua Outlet where Daddy used to go fishing in a canoe with his step brother, Shawn.  There is one deep spot that is still known as "Steve's Hole" where the fishing is supposed to be really good (2 guys fishing along the outlet confirmed the name is still the same).

Then on to Grandma's for a birthday weekend.  Thanks for the little clutch (purse) and gorgeous amber earrings, Grandma! We had a yummy dinner and the kiddos played in the sprinkler.
Check out all of the grass on Addie's legs:)

Cuddle time

Auntie Jen and Uncle Jay stopped by for a bit.  Auntie and Addie were checking out a new camera function on Auntie's phone...cheese!

Night night with Grandma!!

On Sunday, Daddy, Mommy, and Addie went kayaking on Canandaigua Lake while Ayson chose to stay with Grandma.  Daddy's thoughts: FREEDOM!
We were not out that long but Addie got tired and decided to nap for a bit in the kayak.  A fellow kayaker, near the launch site, did not even realize Addie was in Mommy's kayak until Addie sat up once we reached shore and were ready to get out of the water:)

We then all suited up and went for a dip in Uncle Jay and Auntie Jen's pool.  Their kids were out boating with their Grandpa so Jay and Jen also experienced (limited) "FREEDOM" :)  They still had to put up with our two kids who were splashing (Ayson) and crying (Addie...she was tired)

Mommy finally took her hat off
