Garden Goodies and a Low Key Weekend

Mommy wanted to share a picture of the very cool solar owl that Grandma Pat and Grandpa Roger gave to us. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa, we all love it!!



Mommy was away for work again last week conducting water, macroinvertebrate, and fish sampling at Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge in western NY.  The weather cooperated and Mommy could not believe that she was getting paid to work outside!


Meanwhile back at the "Ranch," Daddy and the kids cleaned up the front gardens by trimming the spent flowers.




Someone was NOT in a good mood Thursday morning...Addie's poor eyes are all red from crying. Apparently Daddy chased her down just to get this picture :)



On Friday, we picked more veggies.  Addie wanted to help and we had to show her how to gently place the tomatoes in the basket instead of throwing the tomatoes into the basket :)

Mommy and Addie bouncing on Saturday.


Ayson came home with a fever on Friday afternoon (he said he started feeling bad after he got back from Adam's Eden Camp...so around 4 pm) and the fever lasted all through Saturday.  Our poor guy would start to feel better (once the next round of fever/pain reducer would kick in) and then he would want to go outside and play.  We kept telling him that he had to just play quietly...so no bouncing, running, basically stop being a kid.  The weather was perfect this weekend too!
A^4 ended up taking a leisurely drive to Mommy's work early Saturday afternoon so that Mommy could get her work computer in case she needs to stay home on Monday.  Ayson was fever free Sunday morning and the entire day and now Mommy is just wondering if/when Addie will be next!



Daddy cooked up a storm Saturday afternoon: grilled pesto chicken, squash and eggs, and tomato/basil sauce with spaghetti. Mommy cut up the tomato and fresh mozzarella and picked the basil :)  The wine was a birthday gift from a work friend/colleague, thanks Sandie!!



Another low key day for the kiddos on Sunday!  We did break out the biodegradable water balloons that Daddy picked up on a whim :)


After messing around with 1 water balloon at a time, Mommy made each of the kiddos a basket of 10 balloons so the fun could continue nonstop.
